Jennifer Ha and Wad Phaewchimplee both missed the cut in the Symmetra Tour event this weekend. Both had terrible first round followed by good 2nd rounds, but the damage was done.

Ryan Yip potentially very good weekend was tripped up by a quadruple bogey on 14. He finished tied for 29th on the web.com tour event in Indiana.

Hughes and Conners teamed up for the Zurich Open, but missed the cut.

Corey Connors currently sitting in a tie for 4th place at the Ft. Worth Invitational in Houston after shooting a 7-under 63 Saturday. Justin Rose looks to have a pretty strong lead, but Corey has a chance to cash big.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2018 Edition
The Top 10 finish is a big deal too. Conners will get 80 Fed Ex Points on the day to get to 299 points for the season. This should push him close to 105th place in the Fed Ex standings with the Top 125 keeping their PGA cards. Last year, 125th place had 365 Fed Ex Points, so it's nice to see Conners get a big chunk all at once instead of 10-15 at a time.

Ryan Yip also had a very nice final round on the web.com and finished tied for 11th. He's up to $58,827 in earnings this year and 41st place in earnings. The top 25 get their PGA cards and those in the Top 75 get a chance to earn their playoff card in the web.com tour playoffs. Last year, 25th place earned $158K and 75th place earned $64K.

$205,900

Good week of work. That takes a lot of pressure off the rest of the season, and the top 10 opens some doors.

I wouldn't say it takes off the pressure yet...another 100 Fed Ex points would do that.

That’s why I said it takes off a lot of pressure, not all the pressure. Getting your card is year-long pressure until it’s accomplished, but a top 10 and $200K is a big step and takes care of a good chunk of the year’s expenses. Knowing your bank account just got a big boost makes life out there a lot easier.

I always figured that the PGA guys (even the rookies) get enough from sponsorships that they don't need to sweat the money as much. The web.com guys have to hustle to make that happen.

Holt is +2 after 3 holes. Really need him to settle down and have a decent round. Everyone looks like they are putting up some high numbers, so something around +8 might get it done today. Par is your friend out here.

If you watched sports highlights last night or this morning, you probably saw Tiger with his eagle 3 on the par 5 11th yesterday. The crowd went berserk, too: people were jumping around, screaming, high fiving, chest bumping, you name it.

There was one other eagle on that hole yesterday: Mackenzie Hughes! And his was from 30 yds. farther out. Somewhat less noise from the crowd, though. You might not even call it a “crowd” that was watching Mac.

Connors and Hughes both got off to a nice start today in Memphis. If either of them are in serious contention come Sunday, I will go and be behind them on every shot with my KSU flag to be seen on TV. EVERY SHOT.

Wait. I better not promise that. As much as it would be awesome, I don't want to walk 18 holes.

Ian Holt and Taylor Pendrith are off to good starts in Canada too.

And Ryan Yip had a solid first round in my neighborhood on the web.com tour.

I've thought about going to watch him play or the women on the Symmetra Tour when they come to Milwaukee in August.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2018 Edition
Good weekend so far:

Both Conners and Hughes made the cut at the Greenbrier at 4-under, tied for 47th place. But the field is so packed, any birdies move you well up the leaderboard.

Up north at the Windsor Championship, Taylor Pendrith is 12-under and in 2nd place, one shot back. Ian Holt is five shots back and sits in 15th place. By the way, Pendrith shot 9-under in round 1.

I'd love to see Conners get a Top 10 finish and really secure his spot for next year. He is 121st in FedEx points and the Top 125 keep their PGA card.

Ian Holt is also playing in Canada (I think he is tied for 15th this week). He's done pretty well. Brett Cairns also played this week but was cut.
