I hope you are right. But I think we will be lucky to contend for top 5 in CUSA next year. And we SHOULD this year. Picked 2nd by the coaches. Next year, we likely wont be picked above 6th.

I hope Hurtado doesn’t go anywhere. I still have high hopes for him.
This will be Scootie’s Team the next three years. Hopefully he knows that and isn’t looking to play anywhere else.
I don’t see Lavender staying, and i sure don’t see MCCoy on schcolarship again.
Lavender is 100% leaving after the season.
Hurtado was redshirted and isn't going anywhere.
Sullivan isn't going anywhere.
Like you said this is Scootie's team going forward. I'd expect this starting 5 next season:
Norton
Bryant
Gueye
Sullivan
Darling
Off the bench: Boyce, Jude, etc., etc.
Currently they are trying to fill two spots for next season. Obviously a juco big is the high priority. A grad transfer is possible too.
I hope this JUCO big to be named later is a starter next year and not Gueye. Based on what I've seen, he isn't anywhere near ready for that.
I agree but if Gueye can work hard over the summer and put on 15+ pounds, maybe he is ready for more than spot minutes at the 4/5.
We made the NCAA with starting 4s at 6-5 and 6-6. Ball & Eddins against MUCH better conference teams. So we don't have to have 2 bruisers down low. But, either way, I think we are looking at a down year next year. Nearly impossible to replace Cokes production. Unless we happen across a guy like the new guy at MTSU. His name escapes me right now. Odds of that are very slim. But wait, he is only 6-7. Little Dee wouldn't take him because he is too short. LOL
Poor guy hasn't watched much basketball in his life.
That was over ten years ago. We need Nick Marshall. Little Dee Lol you little immature punk. Lol

Yeah, give me a 6-6 juco guy who averaged 10 boards anyday over a fat slug who cant score.
Who cares if it was 10+ years ago ? It was a much better conference with better competition than current cusa.

Gueye is certainly not reluctant to shoot the three. Fourteen of his twenty eight field goal attempts this season have been three point attempts. I haven't seen him attempt to fake the shot and drive to the basket. I also thought he would be more effective at rebounding than he has shown to be, so far.

Take away the first 2 he made the first game, he is shooting 16.7% from 3 the rest of the year. But, Id imagine he hits a lot in practice or they would not have him to shooting it so much. At least I hope not.

Absolutely agree. He's the real deal.
He will have to get use to playing in front of smaller crowds too.

As for Hurtado or any player who redshirts for any reason, they are free to transfer without sitting out another year.
You may or may not know that but I thought Id throw that out there if you didn't.
Again, Im not trying to run anyone off if they can contribute and maybe he can. I haven't seen him play.
But I DO agree with redshirting guys who won't get many minutes as freshman. I remember wishing we would have red shirted Cam when he was a freshman because he hardly played for 2 years and almost left.

I think that only applies to players who were not recruited and not on scholarship. All of our redshirts were recruited...

He’s 15-28 in the last five games, including the two toughest games on our schedule to date. I don’t know what your issue is with Norton, but it’s a bit bizarre. You do realize there is a huge difference between practice and actually going out in a game and playing, right? It takes most guys a few games to get back into the groove. Norton is a vital part of this team, and we needed him to get back in form for conference play.

Lol we will see.
My point was u can't live in fantasy land taking away games to prove a shooting percentage. That's for ESPN and analytics guys. Btw way Norton was shooting in the upper 20's up til now hurt or not.

Well, UAB is in C-USA play now so all that experimentation time is over and the show is now "on the road". We will all see sooner rather than later if we have the players we need in the right places at the right times. By the time of "March Madness" we will all know answers rather than guesses.
