UAB football:

Only one game played on this date.
On this date, UAB closed out the 2006 season with a loss at Central Florida 22-31. It was UAB's 6th loss in a row to finish the season 3-9. The game also turned out to be Watson Brown's final game as UAB coach.

Blazer Basketball is 5-4 on this date.

**1978 - One day after UAB's very first game, they played again and recorded the very first win. UAB played San Francisco State and won 67-51. Leading scorer was Darryl Braden with 18 points.

** 1983 - UAB destroyed St. Mary's of Minnesota 105-53

**1984 - After two incredible games in the Great Alaskan Shootout in which they beat Tennessee and #2 Illinois, the Blazers topped it off with a win in the championship game over #19 Kansas 50-46. Steve Mitchell was the MVP of the tournament and Jerome Mincy was on the All Tournament team along with Len Bias and Adrian Branch of Maryland, and Danny Manning, Ron Kellogg and Greg Dreilling of Kansas. In the next AP poll, UAB went from untangled to #13 in the country.
