UAB's Robert Ehsan says his team "has to take advantage of our size" in today's Cayman Classic first round game vs. Richmond. He worries about defending the Richmond offense. Lots of back cuts and passing.
Assists: Richmond 10, UAB 1 w/10 TOs
Well, Delaware and Jacksonville State were able to handle it with NO issue whatsoever. We have fallen so far it's embarrassing.
Again, if we had even an average coaching staff, this game would be an easy win. We have a staff made up of recruiters who do not know how to actually coach a team. Far from average, our coaching staff is the worst in our conference, and among the worst in the nation.
The same things that killed us last year, lack of team defense, inability to set a pick on offense, etc. are going to kill us this year. Our staff refused to self scout after the disaster last year, and instead just convinced themselves that it was all due to Nick Norton's injury. That delusion is going to cost us another lost season.
Quite a number of UAB fans convinced themselves of that too. That's much easier to accept than acknowledging we have a recruiter that can't coach and the program is continuing to decline.

Yep and the contract runs until April 1st, 2021. If fired before that date, UAB owes Ehsan $400,000.

There's a lot of time left in the season, but after the start this core group of players had as freshmen, I am extremely disappointed in the trajectory their success has taken. Lee most of all. He was set up to be a star for us, but plays like he doesn't give a damn half the time.
I'm not convinced Ehsan is even a decent coach.

RE: Cayman Island Game Thread: Spiders Edition
The fact that the core of this team won the CUSA tournament, made the NCAA tournament and won a game as freshmen and will never make another NCAA tournament is truly disappointing.

Richmond has made sure we’ve had plenty of opportunities to get back in it so far. Got to actually start hitting some shots though.

What start?
An exhibition loss, 4 ooc wins, 16-15 finish regular season, after two straight losses to F_U, three games hot streak in bham based cusa tourney, and one ncaa win.
Where's the foundation
