Just under 40k at the game. And if 70% weren’t Aggie fans I’ll eat dancing Aggies shorts! A serious outpouring of support from NMSU fans. A showing our rivals will have a hard time beating. For today NMSU’s fans rule, while our rivals drool...!

Now, as great as last night was, I think that a lot of the interest was from the first time in 57 years. If NMSU went to another bowl game next season, either Arizona or New Mexico, there would be a smaller crowd as the novelty would not be there. I almost made the trip from GA for the game, but my schedule did not work out right to do so.

Not a bad show on a national stage for a intramural football team, huh?

It was crazy to see over 25,000 Aggie fans at that game yesterday.

NMSU returns a lot of talent as well especially on defense.

We will need to find a new QB.

We already have our replacement at running back with Jason Huntley who had the 101 yard kickoff return yesterday. He finished the season with 420 yards rushing averaging 6 yards per carry. He also caught 39 passes for 363 receiving yards. He also averaged 30 yards per KO return and ended his sophomore season with 1,316 all purpose yards.

We also return a lot of talented WR's, we also signed two 6'5 WR's already.

this team should be pretty good next season.

The schedule is one where they could be bowling again. They do need to find a QB.

Have recruited some QB studs that are probably better than Rogers. Returning tons of starters. Exciting schedule too, more regional teams, not the stupid Scum Belt. The future is bright for Aggie football.

Aren’t you guys playing Liberty twice next season, home and home? I know they’re transitioning to the FBS... is that next year or are they still another year away? The Big South will miss them, especially since Coastal Carolina left for the Belt as well.

Mainly wondering since only one FCS win can count toward bowl eligibility...

They'll count as FBS

Our AD scheduled them twice knowing they will be counted as an FBS team. I don't know why but unlike GCU and Utah Valley had to wait in transition purgatory, Liberty was granted immediately FBS football status. Liberty I'm sure thought let's schedule the worst FBS program and get us some easy wins. Wronggggg. Our only FCS game next season is vs. Alcorn State.

Liberty has the 2 year transition period like everyone. They did the standard first year as an FCS without postseason eligibility (this past season) and next year they will be an FBS Independent with no post season eligibility. Then in 2019-2020 they are post season eligible

One addition. Although they are not normally eligible for post-season play, from what I have read, if there is a shortage of bowl eligible teams they do come into play at some point. It is unlikely, but not impossible to reach a bowl.

I believe it's because they moved from D-2 to D-1. Liberty was already a D-1 playing football at the FCS level. I believe the rules are a little different moving from D-1 FCS to D-1 FBS.

The point is it counts as an FBS school on NMSUs schedule.
