Juiced baseball..... baseballs so slick that pitchers refuse to even throw sliders for fear of them spinning and backing up.... cracker jack box parks.. All a conspiracy to drive television ratings.

Minute Maid Park may be juiced but by sponsor only. It was actually the lowest scoring ballpark in MLB this season.

The issue is that the Houston bullpen is speculating that the WS balls are juiced. Not whether the balls were juiced 'in season'.

LA's pitchers are complaining too. But I was commenting on neely's comment that MMP is a cracker jack box park.

Thinking about juicing, Puig looks like he is on steriods. Do they do drug tests before the World Series for both teams? I would guess not.

RE: But this conspiracy has as many legs as my last (#worldseries)
Very reliable statistics have been developed to support a juiced ball (presumably due to an almost indistinguishable reduction in lacing height) going back to last year's all-star break. Small sample size on this year's postseason ball has not yielded any significant statistics although the pitchers can apparently tell the difference between the regular season ball and the non-slider friendly postseason ball. The anecdotal evidence of sliders not working definitely seems real with Darvish and Giles being useless. Lots of juicy hangers (with low seams to boot!) wafting over the middle of home plate this post-season.

Minute maid is a little gimmicky with the short porches down the lines, but makes up for it with the big center field and high left-center wall. I like the non-conformity among baseball stadiums as it allows teams to stockpile players that are built for the park and presumably can lead to a significant home field advantage. Little reason to built a uniform park with this potential advantage in mind. Obviously Houston will always require a speedster CF to cover that massive lawn and prefer right handed hitting to reach the Crawford Boxes.

Didn't someone else hit a low-outside pitch over the opposite-field fence with one hand, too?

At least Puig was swinging hard and already established a good deal of bat speed once his hand left the handle. I never thought Frazier's ball had a chance. Looked like a routine liner or even a base hit.

The Yankees' Todd Frazier, and he hit it out to straightaway CF.

Puig is 6 foot 2, 240 lbs with reportedly 7% bodyfat.

Dude is shredded. If anyone could one hand whack a HR into the Crawford Boxes, its him.

Puig reminds me a little of Bo Jackson although Puig is quite eccentric. The guy is a friggen brick of a man and he is always a must watch both at the plate and in the field.

I thought the conspiracy was to "let" the Astros win as part of the Harvey recovery or something like that. Of course, before that it was to let the Yankees win to establish the top-market Series lusted after by advertisers.

I think the conspiracy is to give left field preference over right field. Where have all the homers been hit?

Over the outfield wall?

This isn’t the WWE or WCW. No scripted storylines.

Sometimes it all comes together with a compelling side story.

This Astros Team is special. Draft Choices and Trade/Free Agent Veterans coming together. Astros GM did it all.

Well Jordan did sit out a couple of years to “play baseball.”
