Mr. Vann probably did not make any points with the coaches on his fumble. That said, I think the coaches are maybe looking to rotate the backfield. We have four good running backs. Don't forget Eriksen.
I'm thinking that's part of the problem. Too much rotation, can't just rotate all 4 when they all have very different skill sets. Doesn't allow your best 2 (Vann & Turner) to get into any kind of rhythm.
Eriksen a good back, tough kid, should primarily be the short yardage guy and a pass catcher. Would be nice to see some RB screens from Keen, don't think we've had a single one in the first 2 games?
Banham is a specialist. Great kid, earned his scholarship, but should primarily be a special teams leader and punt returner.
Vann does seem to be a half step slower at this point, as someone mentioned during the game. May just be a combination of the new OL, and him still getting back to 100% after the injury.
Turner the best natural runner of the group. Doesn't quite have the size or strength of Vann, but has the slight wiggle, and vision, to get the most yardage the defense gives him.
Will be interesting to see how it evolves now that the coaches have seen 2 games, and our MAC opener against Ohio is up next.
