RE: ECU game weather
Looks like the weather may clear up a lot Saturday around mid morning. These rain showers are from the remnants of Hurricane Harvey but most of them will be off the coast as the day goes on.

Looks like I spoke to soon. Weather changes so quickly. Now rain is not gonna clear out until Sunday. Who knows, it might change again tonight. 03-hissyfit03-weeping

The unpredictability of hurricanes and their remnants. Ugh.

I actually hope it rains. ECU's strength isn't on the ground, it's the WR's. I like our chances even more now.

The question of the day will be how many of our RB's will be 100+? I say two.

That was the case last year. I believe we will have a more talented OL and a deeper and talented stable of backs. But we will not know until game day.

RE: ECU game weather
It's definitely that time of year. One to watch for next week leading up to the home opener. When I say to myself it will not get to the U.S. mainland in time (if hitting at all), I then remind myself just how unpredictable hurricanes can be and often are.

RE: ECU game weather
WXrisk is now saying that the sun will be shining in North Carolina by game time.

"Finally by midday Saturday and the afternoon hours we can see that the scattered rain showers continue to decrease over the commonwealth of Virginia and Maryland wall and North Carolina is actual beginning to see some sun. There's a band of moderate rain that the develops over southwestern Pennsylvania the western half of Ohio and Eastern Kentucky. This rain could move into the Shenandoah Valley Saturday night.
The entire event will be over by Sunday morning and skies should be come at least partly sunny bite midday."

Someone also commented on WXrisk's post on facebook saying that this newest forecast looked positive for a 6pm kickoff in Norfolk and he confirmed that it does. Whats good in Norfolk has to be good in Greenville, right?

Looking like we will have good weather after all.

Just took a look at the hourly report for Greenville, NC on the Weather Channel and it is looking like the T Storms may be clearing up by game time. Tailgating may be a tad soggy but it is looking better for game time!! Looking forward to seeing everyone at the game.

Go Dukes!!

ROOTIN!!

RE: ECU game weather
Could be a lot worse tomorrow. For instance, Greenville got 10 inches of rain on Sep. 2nd a year ago.

Temps are going to be very nice for this time of year. Near 80 at kickoff, but as expected it will be very humid with a chance of a passing shower or two. And, a steady breeze throughout the day helps as well. Of course, after seeing what happened in Texas & Louisiana earlier this week (heck, flooding in Tennessee as well), I have no complaints whatsoever about the weather forecast.

RE: ECU game weather
Not sure where you guys are getting your information but everything I see looks like a repeat of VA Tech in 2010 weather. The local Greenville guys are saying a light drizzling rain starting around 1:00 to 2:00 and lasting up until the early evening.

I trust WXrisk over any other weather source for VA, NC, MD and the entire mid-atlantic. I quoted his forecast in my previous post a few posts ago.

RE: ECU game weather
Driving down in some pretty heavy rain tonight, sure hope this all clears out by game time. Dark Sky app is predicting light rain pretty much all day in Greenville. Think ECU is a grass field, could be a mud pitt game.

RE: ECU game weather
That brings a good question. Does ECU have a tarp over the field? Do they have an underground high volume drainage system? Let's hope their field is as much FBS as their program is.

I'd hate for a good game to turn into a sloppy grinder like the game about 10 years ago at UMass. Everyone was trying to run around in ankle deep mud resulting in a 10-7 final.

The Fick drains extremely well. I've sat through some monsoon games and the conditions never really deteriorated too bad.
