RE: USM basketball schedule released
USM's schedule is pathetic, but that schedule of ODU's damn sure enough is not raising CUSA's profile.

Not saying all of the teams that Southern Miss plays are acceptable but have you checked ODU's schedule?

Christopher Newport
Towson
Maryland Eastern Shore
Fairfield
Norfolk State

What that old saying about glass houses?

The only bad one there is UMES. Norfolk State is usually decent (and also local).

Towson had an RPI of 92 last season and Fairfield was above .500 in the MAAC which is a better basketball conference than C-USA.

The point was raised about "raising the conference profile". If the common fan doesn't know who teams are (D1 or not), is that accomplishing that goal?
It's not a great schedule, but it means they should give us a winning ooc record, something we need all teams to have so our conference too isn't awful. Probably a 1 bid league no matter what, but a lot easier to get an at large asna top 10 conference than one ranked in the 20s.

"This will be one of the most challenging schedules we've had since I've been here, both in and out of conference play," Sadler said.

And today the women announced their OOC schedule. Somewhat better than the men's but still a couple you have to double check to make sure you read it correctly (see first and last games)

University of Antelope Valley (exhibition)
William Carey (crosstown NAIA school)
Tulane
Mississippi Valley St
@ Mississippi St
Alcorn St
Alabama St
@ Northwestern St
South Alabama
@ Ole Miss
Sam Houston St
@ Samford
@ Georgia Tech
