You should look at Jeff Bidwell's facebook video today on the subject.

Invite has not happened, this is a preliminary step should any invite come. So it's probably a bit further off than tomorrow

I do not expect a knee jerk move. It's much too late in the year to start the process to add a school for 2017-18 anyway. OVC has internal issues to sort out first. They have to defend against other leagues poaching their schools -- they look vulnerable and you know tHL, SoCon, tSL are probing.

Where have you heard the SoCon is "probing"?

Who are they looking at?

Regardless if it happens tomorrow or next month ... it seems the safest play. It checks all these boxes:

- simple 1 for 1 replacement, getting them back to 10
- replaces a public for a public
- reasonably within footprint
- decent bball

- and has football to boot, which swings the balance of power in the MVFC back to the MVC schools

Belmont has been linked with the SoCon.

MplsBison,

Every reporter I check in the MVC says two schools, Murray and Valpo. Just because Murray has to comply with public notice requirements as a public school does not rule out private schools.

NoDak, Belmont's not moving. You need to look at other schools.

So the MVC is moving from 10 to 11?? No.

Whatever balance existed with WSU in the league, would be maintained by adding one public and nothing else.

That's also what they did when Creighton left, replaced with one private and nothing else.

What was needed to get 7 votes when Creighton left may not be the case today
