I think if App State beats Troy, neither will be ranked. Not that that's what I want, but that's just how it goes. The SBC is still regarded, somewhat unfairly, as a very weak league, so an 8-2 App team isn't going to be rewarded well. Even if App goes 11-2 again, there may be no ranking.

For Troy, if they win, they may have to finish the regular season at 11-1. Maybe even have to win their bowl game. I can't see them being 12-1 without finishing in the top 25.

Maybe that's pessimistic, but the AP and Coaches poll do the Sun Belt no favors.

Agreed! TROY would have to be 11-1 (MAYBE 10-2) in order to be ranked. Honestly, I don't give a crap!!! I just hope to go 2-2 over the last 4 games

Oh, I don't know about that. They have a lot of shows that are mainstream here in America, like Dr. Who and stuff...

I could potentially see Troy getting ranked if they were to really run over both App and AState and lock up the league. I think a lot of Voters that are not putting Troy in the picture are waiting to see them play App before they make a call. The reality is, Troy only has 1 respectable win. Yes, they played Clemson well, and that's worth something, but they didn't win. App would make a 2nd respectable win if they can get it.

funny thing is, you will not finish the season in the top 25 without winning the SBC outright, and winning your bowl. A lot of Troy fans seem to have forgotten this.

App went 11-2 in 2015 and still wasn't ranked. Sad.

The Access Bowl would be doable for the Sun Belt champ if we didn't completely screw up our coaching hire. Sorry, guys.

We would be ranked around 15 in the country. Probably higher after this weekend. We'd be fighting it out with WMU for access bowl
consideration.

But I look at it this way, the team that really screwed themselves up was UH. They had a path to the playoffs.

? Danged autocorrect. I meant SBC, for Sun Belt Conference.

I said it two or three weeks ago when people were talking about Troy getting ranked then. It's not going to happen if and when they beat App and stAte.

Until a Sunbelt team has at least 2 significant OOC wins and wins the conference championship top 25 rankings will be VERY hard to come by. I hat to use the P word but the perception won't change until that happens every year. Just win.

Troy wins out, they'll get ranked. Baylor will be losing next week. Florida is a likely loser either against LSU or Florida State (or both). If Florida beats Florida State, they'll fall out of the ranking. LSU has to play Arkansas, Florida and Texas A&M. USC still has to play Washington.

And that's before bowl season. Troy wins out, they'll be ranked. At year end, they could get to around 18 or so, even if they have a 'meh' bowl opponent.

You were beaten pretty bad by stAte late in the season...didn't win the SBC or even share the title...had a weak OCS...there would be no way your 11-2 would ever make the top 25 given those circumstances. Count your blessings that you were ranked as high as you were last year...just saying...

Actually, some of us older fans know how this works. You'll find some of the newer Troy fans are using social media to press the issue. I have no problem with it.
