Marathon
Saw that there's a lot of talk about the Big East Marathon moving to Martin Luther King day. I think that's an excellent move. It works all but 2 days from now to 2050.

Several of the years- that day is the day after the NFC Championship game.

RE: Marathon
not a bad move . I think the NYE marathon was a good gimmick to get attention but the BE has proven its one of the big boys and place the marathon some time where it will get more exposure

RE: Marathon
like I just posted on the other board- the move will allow a lot more students to go to the games. Which will provide for a much more vocal crowd.

RE: Marathon
I love the matchups that day. It will surely be a more long-term and stable slot for the marathon to take place, rather trying to mess around NYE or the CFP or other bowl games that will draw attention away. And, like Stever said, much more students will be able to attend and see the games (rather than being away on vacation).

Marquette/Butler
Creighton/Xavier
DePaul/St. Johns
Seton Hall/Villanova
Providence/Georgetown

Will be a fun day of hoops for sure.

Yeah, everything that you said. Plus, I think especially the years where the marathon is the day after the NFC championship game- the advertising for that would be priceless. NFC championship game typically is the #2 TV event of the entire year.

Also, this will allow I think better games to be held in the marathon. Look at this years Marathon. You have 5 teams that I think are pretty much agreed about tourney teams. Well, 4 of those teams are playing each other in the marathon.
