You can't deny though that the first patch is going to fix a LOT of issues.

Like that goddamned flying ship. Nearly derailed the game for me.

Absolutely...but I'm one of the few people who happens to be fine with Day 1 patches, DLC, etc. Just finished the game and have 96% completion (I'm guessing the other four are the find tasks and since there are absolutely no quest indicators I probably won't finish them). Loved the hell out of this game, and will never understand the hate it has been getting. Too many people are acting like this is Mass Effect 4 rather than the start of a new trilogy with their character connection complaints and whatnot...as far as gameplay, story, and table setting, the game is great. If you go in with a clear mind and not unreal expectations by comparing this against one of the best games of all-time (ME2) and just enjoy the journey, you'll be happy.

I have almost the exact same experience. Beat it over spring break with everything done except the markerless quests. And I've come to almost the exact same conclusion: it's a brilliant game that may have some rough edges, but a wonderful heart.

All they've got to do is give me my Quarians, and I'll be a VERY happy camper.

The Quarian Ark is absolutely going to be DLC. I love games that make you wish you were there after you're done and seriously make you miss the experience, and this one did just that... just like the original trilogy. I think it's partially the lore, but definitely the characters, they start feeling like a family. There are only a few things that have made me feel that way, as far as TV, movies, books, and video games go...and ME is and always will be one. This is just the latest example, and I hope that the unwarranted backlash doesn't kill this franchise, because it is on video game Rushmore for me.

One thing is for sure, even though I'll be well into my 30's, I'll be patiently waiting the next foray into that universe (I guess we can't say galaxy anymore). My brother and i always talk about games/books/movies/TV shows/cartoons that we will make sure we keep for our kids, and the entire ME experience is definitely one of those things.

They may save it for the second game. Which, I will admit, their blatant sequel set-up through SAM pissed me off because I finished those missions WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early, so that cliffhanger came quick and hard.

And saving games is one thing I wish I'd done when I was younger. I've got to reacquire my favorite PS2 games and a PS2 now. I've been craving Kingdom Hearts 1, Jak and Daxter, the Ratchet and Clank games, and NCAA Baseball.

For sure...I went back and got the KH games on PS2 back in college because some fraternity Brothers didn't believe me that it was a great game (insanely frustrating camera be damned). Definitely a good investment, even though the remaster barrage will probably make it possible for the classics to pop up on every generation back into my entry (SNES was the first one i got a ton of play on in the early 90's).

As far as the sequel set up, I get it. It's frustrating to have so many loose threads with a 60 hour play time...but they are setting up an entire galaxy here lol. The story/lore they were able to build was good (albeit not nearly as substantial as ME1, which is understandable). I'm really interested in the Jaardan/mysterious enemy stuff and if there will be any more tieback to the original galaxy in the next games on top of the audio logs. I'm right there with you on completions though, i got those dates clusters and 100% viability before the final location was even brought up, so that confused me a bit haha. I think they planned that for post-game because normal gamers don't go after completion type stuff before the main questline and we just kind of went out of order,

Are you sure you aren't me? lol

I'll admit, I'd have preferred more games in the Mass Effect Milky Way. But I loved Andromeda, so I'll buy the sequel.

And I'm an Xbox guy, so between the original J&D, R&C, the original SOCOM, and the NCAA Baseball game, I'll be seeking a PS2 even though most of those have been remade all to hell. Shame NCAA Baseball never will be.

Always fun to find someone with similar gameplaying taste lol. The Milky Way would be awesome, a kind of 50-100 years forward type game with an older Liara and Wrex or Shepherd's son/daughter mentee...but with the divergent path ending of ME3, which I still don't have any issue with (but I guess being a fan of anime in my youth made me alright with bittersweet endings), it would be damn near impossible to do a post game without alienating a large portion of your player base, or creating a Fire Emblem style 3-play game, which would be a boondoggle in a AAA type game. Prequel in the Krogan Rebellions or Rachni War would be cool, but then you're removing the humans from the equation, which would inherently make it less playable for most people.

I was just talking about SOCOM with a younger cousin who didn't believe me that there were online games before CoD lol. That game was revolutionary if a little clunky (the third person perspective was a little tough). The games I'll always find myself coming back to every few years or so are FE Path of Radiance, Mega Man X, ME Trilogy (probably going to start my 4th playthrough here once I've completely digested ME:A), Kingdom Hearts (really wouldn't mind KH3 coming out before I retire...), The Witcher series, and The Uncharted Series. Just got an XBoxOne with the Master Chief collection, so I'm excited to check that out again...used to play tye original in HS and Halo 2 with my senior roommate in college, but didn't play the stories since I didn't own an XBox console. I love having plenty of disposable income, a fiance with a similar taste in video games (met since we were both soccer players way back in the day at UC) and no children yet.

SOCOM, Full Spectrum Warrior, and Men of Valor are all combat games that deserve modern remakes.

And you'll LOVE the MC Collection. Halo distilled. It's a thing of beauty. And the Halo 2 revamp is amazing.

As for another Mass Effect game, the human Corsairs would make a great game premise. There's plenty of stuff to explore pre-reapers...

Good call on the Corsairs...They could easily do the first contact war too, although the comics have kind of made that seem a little less significant than what was originally referenced in ME1

I love the upscale button on the original Halo, already pretty crazy to see the work that the redevelopment team did.

Quote:Nintendo Details Many Upcoming First- and Third-Party Games for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS

REDMOND, Wash., April 12, 2017 – This afternoon, Nintendo unveiled new details about the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2 and ARMS games for the Nintendo Switch system, as well as Hey! PIKMIN, Ever Oasis and several new Kirby games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems in a new streamlined format for its long-running series of Nintendo Direct presentations. The video also covered numerous third-party games, including Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition and Disgaea 5 Complete for Nintendo Switch, and Culdcept Revolt for Nintendo 3DS.

“With the recent launch of Nintendo Switch and many fun games coming out for Nintendo 3DS, this is a great time to be a Nintendo fan,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “From action-packed multiplayer games to platformers starring classic characters, no matter your favorite video game genre, Nintendo has you covered.”

To view the Nintendo Direct video in its entirety, visit http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct. Some of the highlights revealed in the video include:

Nintendo Switch
ARMS: One of the biggest features in the upcoming fighting game is the ability to equip two types of customizable ARMS per fighter. These ARMS range from standard gloved ARMS to curved weapons like boomerangs. Each ARM has a special attribute like fire, ice or electricity that activates when delivering a charge punch. As players fight through the game, they will earn in-game currency that can be used to play the ARM Getter, a fun mode in which they can get new ARMS for their fighters. The fast-paced game can be played in 1-v-1 matches or even 2-v-2* for more entertainingly chaotic battles. During the Nintendo Direct presentation, a new character was also revealed: the super-fast, ramen-armed Min Min. ARMS launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on June 16. In addition, special Neon Yellow Joy-Con controllers and Joy-Con Straps will be released separately on the same day alongside a Joy-Con AA Battery Pack accessory.
Splatoon 2: Salmon Run, a new four-player co-op mode*, is coming to the Splatoon 2 game. By teaming up with friends, players can take a part-time job battling the new Salmonid species, which the Squid Research Lab reports might even be more lethal than the Octarians! When players fall in co-op mode, teammates can revive them by inking them on the battlefield. Splatoon 2 launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on July 21. In addition, three freshly designed individual amiibo figures for the game – a new Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy and Inkling Squid – will launch on the same day and grant special limited gear in game. By tapping these amiibo (as well as previously released Splatoon series amiibo), the figure’s character will appear in the game and befriend players. Befriend an amiibo character and it will remember favorite weapons, gear, outfits and option settings. This comes in handy when waging Turf War at a friend’s house.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: When the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game launches on April 28, it will do so with more characters, karts and tracks unlocked from the start than any other game in Mario Kart history. Both traditional racing and the newly redesigned battle modes can be played in Local Wireless mode with up to eight players, and in Online** or LAN mode with up to 12 players***. For fans who want to show off their driving skills, Nintendo will be hosting two Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online tournaments in game. More details about these tournaments will be revealed in the future.
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers: Fans waiting to play this enhanced version of one of the most celebrated fighting games of all time won’t have to wait much longer! The Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers game launches for Nintendo Switch on May 26 and includes all of the classic characters and two new fighters: Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. Additionally, a “Way of the Hado” mode lets players throw HADOKENS with first-person motion controls, while an exciting two-player co-op mode* gives players and a friend one health bar for intense two player vs. CPU matches.

Last but certainly not least, a new multiplayer* action game in the Kirby series is coming to Nintendo 3DS this holiday season. More information will be revealed about this game in the future.
Miitopia: Fans have never played an RPG quite like Miitopia. By casting Mii characters in roles across the world of Miitopia, players set off on an adventure to battle enemies, hunt for treasure and open up new areas of the map. The turn-based battles are straight out of an RPG, but allies have a mind of their own. The relationships they build affect their performance in battle. This Nintendo 3DS RPG launches later this year.
Ever Oasis: Grow and expand the world’s last oasis in Ever Oasis, a new action-adventure RPG from Koichi Ishii, the creator of the Mana series. The Ever Oasis game launches exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on June 23. More information about the game will be revealed in the future.

By rescuing new Qbabies, main character Qbby will receive one of four powers – Boxrocket, Bombox, Warpbox and Remotebox – that can help the boxy hero overcome obstacles in a new way. Tapping any of the Kirby series amiibo figures like Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight or Waddle Dee will permanently unlock a new colorful costume for Qbby based on that character. Players can even befriend Wicked and Boss Yo-kai from previous games, learn about the origin of the mysterious feline Yo-kai, Darknyan, and experience a revamped Blasters co-op mode to beat powerful new bosses. YO-KAI WATCH 2: Psychic Specters launches for Nintendo 3DS this fall.

A free download called RPG Maker Player will be available in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS. RPG Maker Player will let anyone play fan-created RPGs even if they don’t own RPG Maker Fes. RPG Maker Fes launches for Nintendo 3DS on June 27.

NEW as in terms of never known about prior to this date?

NO, not that I recall .... I think that Monopoly game was NEW NEW. I think everything else had had at least a mention since the first Switch Direct in January.

Battlegrounds? From what I've seen, I think it's going to be a game that's much more fun to watch than play (and it is a blast to stream). Much like H1Z1 and Rust, it's an early-aplha build that likely will be incredibly frustrating to play and will never actually be finished.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. I've some friends who play it. Not my cup of tea, but for a Steam Greenlight game, a lot of people have been enjoying it.

I've got it...it's pretty fun. My son likes it a lot. For me, I can play a game or 2 or not and it's fun. Doesn't require a ton of time and not much in the way of building a character up. Fairly repetitive but challenging
