I guess we have confidence in our current crop of PGs. Pinckney doesn't sound like he's going to be a starter, and possibly won't be our #2 PG, either.
I just saw where this kid was offered by Minnesotta, Miami, Xavier and western Kentucky out of high school before picking Tulane. Say what you want about junior college stats but he looks really athletic with a good handle and good size on video. Some of those Jucos play 10 or 12 guys equal minutes to give everyone a look. He might not be all conference but nice to add some veteran depth. Don't forget, he's probably 21 years old and a lot more experienced and much bigger and stronger than a 18 year old Fields.
Actually yeah, just checked. His Juco went 27-6 and played 12 guys every game. He started 8 or 10 times. Who knows, Hopefully he's ready to work hard and contribute to the squad.
That's great news. Now that the roster is set, hope Pickney can get in soon and get to work. Sounds like the whole lot of new players will all be here by the second summer school session.
I have no problem bringing in Jucos. It has worked mighty fine for coach L at Miami and Louisville always seems to have a lot.
We seemed to be pretty well set up for some good years ahead!
sounds like someone who can come off the bench and give us some productive minutes. I believe that is all we were looking for outside of a gem that luckily fell in our lap.
According to one of those articles he was Tulane's best recruit as a freshman and was the best point guard in Georgia as a senior in HS. His Juco stats aren't eye-popping, but it seems like he has the raw skills to be good. Hope a fresh start and some good coaching will help make him a great addition to the team. Pinckney, Talley, Caver, Baker, Taylor, Stith, Stith, Kah, Porter, Haynes make for a nice 10 deep roster. Greene and Fields may redshirt, and we have Carver who we haven't seen yet. Replacing Trey's 20 points per game will be tough, but I think this squad may be able to do it. I'm excited to see all the new faces.
Keith Pinckney played on a excellent HS team at Miller Grove High School. They have one of the best HS coaches out there, think they won 6 straight state championships. Keith Avg 16.9 points, 4.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game while leading Miller Grove High School and coach Sharman White to a sixth straight 5A Georgia State not bad work. I like this add and not too worried about the JuCo stats.
Miller Grove head coach Sharman White said the program could not have been happier to have Pinckney. “Keith has been a phenomenal player and an even more phenomenal person,” White said. “He does it the right way and he goes out and gives everything he has, not only on the court but off the court.”
Here are his Jr year highlights, he's wearing #1
Here's his Sr tape.

Definitely a good add. Are we sure how many years of eligibility he will have? Did he ever play at Tulane?
Answering my own questions, it looks like he is a red shirt sophomore with three years of eligibility and never played at Tulane. I think we just landed a winner.

Going back to his junior year of high school, he was rated a four star recruit (at least by Scout.com) but somehow or another he was downgraded to 3 stars his senior year. Kind of like what happened with Ramone Snowden....but not exactly.

Did you read the pilot article? He avg 2.4 points a game at Tulane.
