At the end he talks a bit about recruiting, and dropped this one:

"ODU is also attempting to secure a visit this weekend from Caleb and Cody Martin, twin wings who are transferring from N.C. State. The Martins visited Rutgers last weekend and were slated to come to ODU next. But that's not a done deal."

I did not realize that wasn't a done deal for them to visit us.

Also noted a coaching staff change....I guess Jeff is trying to kick recruiting to a higher gear.

It would be awesome if the new assistant could convince his PG to join him in the future. The kid's name is Tremont Waters, and he is a Top 50 type player in the Class of 2017.

It would be great about Tremont Walters, but right now for South Kent he has a 98% ability and is a four star. Some say he has a 60% chance of Duke , 10% Kentucky and 30% UConn. Sorry, unless Coach Jefferson has some Magic!

Wasn't Corey Alexander interested in being on the staff at one point? Or was that just speculation?

I don't think our system fits what they are looking for. I wouldn't be shocked, given all the other interest, if they backed away.

Signing period ends next week. Would be nice to hear something besides walk-ons and people leaving.

I don't think our system fits what a lot of recruits are looking for.

I remember when Jones was hired, we were promised we would not be tied down to a system.

The end of the signing period is irrelevant at this point. If we get a commitment from anyone, it's likely they will take Summer classes, in which case, they can simply register for classes.

Hopin we don't go down this old road again, but it could be argued that he's used a system the first three years that best suits the talent he has and as that talent changes out, it's plausible the system will evolve accordingly. And, with Fields, Green, Kah, Stith 2, Trey, Hyams (sp?) all coming in for the first time, a different type of talent is on hand.

I just want to go into this season with a full cast of scholarship players, not 3 empty spots and 3 walk-ons like last year.

No argument here. I was responding to the posts that the twins don't fit our system. I thought we adapted and evolved well down the stretch last year when we got away from Blaine ball for a bit and let Trey carry the team.
