2016 Old Dominion Basketball Recruiting Den
I spoke with a long-time local high school referee yesterday who has had a couple of Xavier Green's games this year. He was REALLY impressed with Green. He said that although Green may be slight, he goes HARD at the rim and has a real natural feel for the game.

I think he starts day one. I would start Evans and BJ Stith in the backcourt.

He is going to give us good depth at guard. In fact, we will have good depth at all positions next year.

Except SF....I think that is where you will see our last recruit this year.

true. we only have Talley and Aaron Carver at the SF. I don't know too much about Carver except that I believed in played inside in high school and is making the transition to the 3 position. Hope he shoots like his dad, though. do you think we try and bring in a juco or grad transfer at that position. Don't we have one more slot since Moseley is off the team.

I'm assuming they're gonna try for a grad-transfer since Moseley only had 1 year remaining, and they might not want to mess up their scholarship plan they've got for 2017

I think this would make the most sense. having 5 new freshman next year would load up too much and unbalance the roster

We only have 3 freshmen next year (Evans, Green, & Carver).
Class breakdown for the 2016 season:
Senior: Baker, Taylor
Junior: Stith, Kah, Haynes, Colbert, Vassor
Sophomore: Caver, Talley, Porter, Stith
Freshman: Evans, Green, Carver

True, but if we grab a freshman/underclassman then we'll only have 2 spots open for 2017. I'm assuming they're gonna wanna try and keep it balanced.

He is an extremely special player and I think he will be the best player on the team in 2017.

This is a really strong statement to make considering who we have on the bench redshirting and what havoc Tre Evans is exerting on opponents over there in Oklahoma. I'd say bring the excitement on, I'm ready!

Yeah, that Tre Evans kid is tearing it up out west. I like the sound of both! Those two, Kah and the two Stith's are the basis for a great foundation![/u]

Indeed - maybe it's the work ethic of this years team minus a player or two. Perhaps this new batch will put in the time and overtime in to meet the coaches expectations.

Agree Mac, good foundation. Also I liked Godwin alot, but Green was our high target at SG and with BJ Stith we look very solid at SG.
From a recruiting guy who follows OK prep.
@ScottWrightOK: I've been watching Tre Evans since he was a freshman. His game has gone through the roof this year. Very impressive #okpreps

Yea I said from the beginning that this kid's basketball IQ is like nothing I have ever seen live from a high school basketball player. He knows when it is time for him to take the game over.

Directly from the kid's mouth...
"ODU is number 1 choice. JMU is my number 2. Marshall is my number 3."
He told me this today.
Gerard Simpkins- Bishop Sullivan
Don't know if we have offered.
