+1. I'd even say they're basically tied.

Quote:At the height of his power he was the head of the gestapo and the SS and built and oversaw the concentration camps. He's considered one of the persons most directly responsible for the Holocaust.
So he wasn't Hitler... so was he the Offensive Coordinator, or Special Teams coach? :)

And Goebbels was the Sports Information Director?

Hitler is a given and ultimately responsible for the tragedy in Europe. Himmler was sadistically and methodically good at carrying out the dirty work of his Fuhrer.

(In chronological order of birth)
Lenin. Stalin. Hitler. Mao Tse-tung.
The four horsemen of genocide and industrialized mass-murder. The sheer # of human beings killed on the altar of their ideological obsessions defies belief.

I'm not Lincoln's (or Wilson's) biggest fan, but they don't deserve to be mentioned alongside the cosmically evil people listed on this thread.

If you compare Mao to other historical Chinese leaders you'll see he was pretty tame by comparison.
Richard I, often called Richard the Lionheart, embarked on the Crusades, who burned the great libraries for their heathen knowledge, setting civilization back a thousand years, could easily be on the list in spot #1. He was born before the lot of 'em, and his actions engendered generations of hatred between Muslims and Christians.

Well he needlessly had 800,000 men killed. Countless murders, rapes and looted and stolen property all over a landmass as large as Europe.

Lincoln made the best of a bad situation, which anyone else would have made far worse. But he killed nobody. He merely tried to hold a country together, when it was bound and determined to tear itself apart.
But the north didn't declare war on the south. The south fired the first shots, starting the conflict. Lincoln simply had the resolve to see it through to the end.
The SOUTH started the war - the killing - and everything else associated with the Civil War. And they did it to keep people in slavery. Lincoln killed nobody - and started nothing. It was all on the southerners.
So if you blame Lincoln for the Civil War deaths, you did not pay attention in history class. Your assumption is so far off base as to be in another universe.

That's a crock. There is no revision, except in your own mind.
Fort Sumter was in place long before the CSA ever existed. So was every other Union outpost in the south. Southerners depended on them for 80 years before the CSA came into being. They had been there since before American troops slaughtered every native in the area, or moved those who survived to Oklahoma. They did this so southerners could have a safe place to live, without fear of Indian attack, because some stupid white settler decided he didn't need to pay any attention to the terms of any treaty. No white man would take any Indian's side in any dispute. So the Indians lost out every time, which is why the western Indians fought until they either died or were captured. They knew the consequences were the same no matter which course they chose.
But there was no Union invasion of the south. It was the same country, until the south decided they didn't want to be a part of it. They started the war with the first shots fired. Anyone who thinks otherwise is ignoring the facts of history.
If anyone invaded the south, it was southerners. They stole it from those who lived there first, forcing the Union to break every treaty ever written with the original owners of the land in the process.

Again you know little about the topic of Sumter. 80 years ? Construction did not begin until 1829 and was continually halted. It wasn't even completed by the 1861 and the establishment of the CSA.
Sumter served as a tax collection office mainly. That was its importance to The Fed. Govt & Lincoln.
Try harder next time.

Yeah. That's why they had all the cannon and put it in the middle of a strategic harbor.

I didn't say that it wouldn't or couldn't be used that way. But how it was actually being utilized.

So the legitimate government of the United States of America is invading to collect taxes from their citizens? I see now. It makes perfect sense.
Talk about revisionism.

What an asinine comparison. The south lost. Get over it.
