Congrats to Sam Howard he pitched a heck of a complete game against Florida St in the regionals which probably helped him move up a spot or two. Hail Southern!!!

One of ULM's incoming pitchers was drafted 176th (6th round) by the Brewers. Pretty sure he's still coming to school!

Update: Oops, spoke too soon. He's foregoing college to try the bigs. Good luck to him!

Wallace never utilized his full potential at ASU, yet he goes in round 10. 4th straight year we've had a pitcher drafted in the first two days.

RE: 2014 SBC MLB Draft
We have a couple of juniors who we are expecting to get drafted somewhere tomorrow between rounds 11 and 40. We know Howard drafted in 3rd round will be gone but we will have to see if others leave too. I guess we will know soon.

I think we have 2 INF and 2 pitchers that could still go. Just have to see. After rd 20 it's almost not worth it unless you're a senior.

We've got one Junior who might get drafted, he'll sign if he does. Good thing this year is that none of our top players were draft eligible.

RE: 2014 SBC MLB Draft
Depending on how the draft plays out tomorrow we could lose 4 of our 8 starting position players. We are definitely losing our #1 pitcher and depending on the draft could lose our #2 pitcher also, but we have a number of pitchers coming back who at times this year pitched very well.

I think entering the Sun Belt you will see us recruit more JUCO baseball players. We brought in a number this year and for the most part they did well. In the SoCon we did not seem to recruit the JUCO ranks that much.

I hope we don't recruit more Jucos. Hennon already leads the country in Jucos. He hit it big with them this year, but that is the exception.

Sr Catcher, Tyler Pearson, 25th round , Cubs
Jr RHP, Taylor Black, 26th round, Colorado

Black was a 4th year Jr and had graduated. Doubted we'd see him back anyway.

Jr RHP, Josh Wirsu, 30th round, Cardinals

Wirsu was the SoCon POTY and I would expect him to be back

RE: 2014 SBC MLB Draft
I expected to lose Williams (Fri starter), Black (Sat starter) and Mattlage. Pearson, as a senior, would not be back regardless so I think he takes the money. Unless Black isn't happy with the $$ and has a grad program to hit up at TXST, we weren't going to see him again, either.

Sucks losing the JUCO prospect though
