I got a full taste of that amigo. Makes me ponder why I missed the Ecstasy movement. Lolololol. I could picture that in some poorly lit rave in a warehouse in Los Angeles. Guess I've watched too much tv. I imagined it cranked to the volume that when you walk in you feel it in percussive bursts into your chest. As bad as it is for the ears it is still something when you 'feel' the music as well as hear it.
Probably the loudest I've been treated to was the Forecastle Festival in Louieville around 5 years back. It was when Bassnectar had become really big. We were about 10 rows back (my youngest son and I) and the young man next to me said it's much more powerful and better in an enclosed venue. He said then you don't only feel it hitting your face, you feel it hitting you in the back after it's bounced off the back wall.
Not something I want to do every night but I do like to get out every once in awhile.

Right, dahbeed. I personally was never into the drugs, just the music. The more interesting thing for me is how an artist can evolve over the years. For instance, in this case, "F Machine" was the 90's incarnation of recording artist "Simon F" (Simon Fellowes). Back in the 1980s he put out a great, if somewhat disturbing album entitled "Gun" (cover photos by Robert Mapplethorpe, remember him?) a now very, very rare item that I hold an original copy of, which had this little gem on it (been saving it for Stinkfist....here you go...although I'm not a fan of the lyrical content, it is a killer tune)
Artist: Simon F
Album: Gun
Cut: "A Million Miles From Happiness"
1985 Chrysalis Records
RE: OT: CUSA board Music thread (what are you listening to right now?)
...and to complete the trifecta, or hat trick for you octopus fans out there:
Artist: Intaferon
Track: "GETOUTOFLONDON"
1983 Chrysalis Records
Intaferon was a short-lived English new wave duo, consisting of Simon Fellowes (Simon F) and Simon Gillham (Simon G). They were signed to Chrysalis Records. Simon Fellowes, after releasing two further albums as Simon F and another using the moniker F Machine, is now an author. He has two published novels - Don't Breathe the Air, and My Name is Ferdinand (Strata Books). Both feature Fellowes' unique sardonic spin on Hollywood and the American dream.
Simon Gillham gained a BA and an MA in Philosophy and undertook a PhD on Nietzsche, then embarked on a career as a Philosophy lecturer. In 2015 he formed the band "Used To", releasing several singles. An album was planned for late 2015.
"GetoutofLondon" was Recorded with Martin Rushent. Co-wrote and co-sung with Simon G. This was the song which got them a deal with Chrysalis. Lyrics written Kerouac-style. Lots of time-specific references (Keys on the TV - a sideways reference to the launch of TV-AM). Video directed by Storm Thorgeson.
