College All-Star games
Has anyone heard of any NIU seniors getting invites yet to any of the post-season college all-star games? I know no rosters are finalized, but I would've thought we'd hear about some invites for these games by now. There are quite a few of them (Senior Bowl, East-West Shrine Game, NFLPA game, Texas vs. the Nation, Florida one).

I gotta believe, we'll have at least a couple of seniors playing in one of these. I do know that Zach Line RB w/ SMU is playing in E-W Shrine.....hey, cut me some slack, I live in Dallas. btw, our sports section makes Trib and Sun Times look reallly weak.....just sayin

During the GoDaddy Bowl the announcer mentioned that the left tackle from Kent State was the only MAC player invited to the Senior Bowl. Not sure the credibility of Brock Huard but that's what he said.

I'm out in Dallas too! Are any of these games going to be in TX?

I would have thought Moore would have been better off than that. Even though it's a homecoming game for him, I would have thought an invite to EW Shrine or Senior Bowl was in order.

I agree. I think Sean Progar deserves to go to an all-star game.
I just hope they get invited to the combine

I'll probably get hammered for this but...... I think NaPalm has a better chance to stick in the NFL than MM. (Both are longshots IMHO)
I didn't think MM handled the physical play of FSU in the OB very well. Mentally he also seemd to be very frustrated. (Understandable I agree, but still an observation.)
MM has more athletic talent than NaPalm, but #81 is tougher, more elusive and has better instincts for the game. Without him we don't win the 2011 MACC.

He did go against Xavier Rhodes who is projected to go in the Top 20 in this years draft. Did he have trouble in the Orange bowl? Yes, had trouble catching balls and getting off press coverage, but he was facing one of the best DB's in college football

Point taken....I just would have liked to see him respond better. His body language just looked like he gave up at the end. (Not sayin' he did.)
Heck, Rhodes should have gotten a flag on the 3rd down throw into the end zone when we had to settle for a FG.

RE: College All-Star games
I thought MM got open a lot more in the OB than people are giving him credit for. I think in relative terms he outperformed Rhodes. His issue that game was catching the ball, part of which was Lynch's issue throwing fire. Yes, we wouldn't have won the MACC without NaPalm, but because he is a slot guy, he doesn't have the outside skills MM possesses. I think MM has a better chance of sticking than NaPalm for sure. But the most likely guy to last in the league of recent WR is going to be Perez Ashford, he has the best hands and would fit in with a west coast offense perfectly.

A shame he was injured and missed so many games this year.
Perez is truly an "unsung hero" that hasn't gotten as much exposure as he should have. He will be missed next year.

On ESPN he is rated higher than MM for draftable guys. I think he's a great player, a couple friends of mine on the team said he LITERALLY catches every pass. I hope he is healthy and can have an illustrious career, him doing well in the NFL would be great, bigger than anything one could accomplish here in DeKalb.

I agree, Perez has made several outstanding catches in his career. If I remember correctly, he had a huge catch in the 2011 MACC game.

Yeah, I remember when he was recruited, his high school coach said he didn't drop one pass his entire high school career.

Isn't Moore like the 89th best WR prospect in the draft? If that's true he's lucky to be going any AS game.

Curious to see where that rating came from.
