A new $21 million police station on the east side of Hampton Blvd. The request includes money for land acquisition. I wonder what lot they plan on buying?

A new $128 million biology building, which also mentions they will renovate Mills-Godwin for a new use.

Also included are stormwater improvements and the already mentioned health sciences building.

The apartments at 1069 41st have been torn down. IIRC they were 1 of three businesses that held out against eminent domain domain.
With that gone, it opens up that corner lot for full development. Might be the new police location.

The Norfolkair website isn't working for me right now to see if was sold.

ODU Real Estate Foundation bought that lot earlier this year. I believe the demolition was to make way for the Health Sciences building (which is going on 41st and Monarch Way). But I could see it opening the way for both.

Does anyone have a new link to the new bio building? The old link takes me to a page that's not available.

Would be quite disappointed to lose access to the best tailgate lot the university has to offer 03-weeping

Having had a spot there, the white lot and now the blue lot, I have to disagree with that statement. Blue lot and white lot are both better. And it's not even close to Blue lot. Blue lot is just as easy to get in and out of, convenient to the Shell (if you forgot anything), and has a short walk to the stadium. The only downside to blue lot is how tight it can get.

I loved the old education building lot, but the beige lot was always my favorite. Lots of nice shady trees.

It's the best because it's cheap, not that far of a walk compared to white lot, and the grass allows you to spread out.

Not a fan at all of the design and architecture. Reminds me of the old city jail with the narrow windows.

I like that they used a bit more glass and theres a nice open atrium. I agree that the skinny windows are ugly. But maybe the skinny windows are needed for functionality? I don't know, just guessing since there should be lots of labs etc. Its not the worst though. And all of our buildings could look a lot nicer with some flags or banners or something to give them life. ODU should look like an exciting, lively, energetic campus. There are ways to do that through signage, landscaping, lighting, banners, etc that shouldn't cost a fortune. So there is hope.

ODU awarded a $3m grant by the Virginia Research Investment Committee to go towards the cybersecurity program. They'll be using $500k of those funds to build Cyber Innovation Park (estimated cost of $2m);

Indeed. I'm sure this will do well. But if ODU is getting another fast casual restaurant, I'd prefer it to be Mr. Shawarma.
