We have this debate every off season, then half way through the season half of us are say "why the hell are we dumping everything inside" and the other half are saying "our guards suck BT knows his best option is to get it to the big guys" It is never going to change. BT is a system coach and he will push the peg into that darn hole whether they are both round or not.
True. Blaine does have a "system" that will go on, despite the talent (or lack thereof) in the paint or on the perimeter. The only question is whether this is a good thing. I see both sides. It's hard to argue w/ his continued success (or 20-win seasons, or postseason births, etc.). But it also makes you wonder how much FURTHER we possibly could've gone if the "system" wasn't so rigid.
This has been the discussion w/ Blaine for years: Should we be satisfied with what we're getting or strive for more?
IMO, the "system" has hidden our weaknesses at the guard position. Let's face it, we haven't had a PG that could reliably generate offense since Drew Williamson. Back in the Williamson and Hunter days, Taylor's teams were scoring more points. Then we had Brandon Johnson, Darius James, and Delancey, who really couldn't do much offensively, but could reliably stay in front of their man on defense. The question is, does Taylor have a rigid system or will he tweak it to the strength of his guard play?

I've always been of the philosophy that a solid offense comes naturally if you have a solid defense. It looks like we have some guns coming in that can back up the solid defense we already have in place in the system. I just hope that is true and we let the guns fly.
