MAC Tourny
Took 2 minutes to try to figure out where EMU may be seeded in the MAC tourny. I'm sure one or two of you have put a lot more time into this so correct me if I'm wrong.
Currently EMU is seeded #5 and would host an opening round game.
But EMU is only 1 game behind Ohio for the #4 spot and EMU has the tie-breaker over OU. If EMU catches OU they would be seeded #4 and get a first round bye. BTW, OU still has games with Kent and Akron on the schedule.
Did I get this right? If I did then EMU has more to play for than an outright MAC west crown this week.

RE: MAC Tourny
You are absolutely correct, Nickle. If Ohio loses tonight against Akron, they have a decent chance at losing out, as both of their games next week are on the road (vs. KSU and Miami). So, we are very anti-Ohio.
Also, if we can win one of our two road games next week, we are likely to end up as the #5. Bowling Green is unlikely to win out, and we have the head-to-head with them. If not number 4, the 5 seed is where we want to be. If we are number 5, we'll get NIU in round one, and potentially WMU in round 2. That's a good deal.
Worst case scenario is we lose out and end up as the #6 seed. That would likely pair us up with CMU in round 1.
Let's try to avoid that.
Hell, let's just beat WMU and Toledo next week.

Ohio dominating Akron. We need to win out and they need to lose out for us to get to the four seed. That's a tall order.
I'd be very pleased with the 5 seed.

Is that correct? EMU is only one behind OU and beat them head to head. So if EMU wins out and OU loses once then it's a tie and EMU gets the #4.

just for selfish reasons i prefer the 5th seed. that gives us two home playoff games, assuming we win the first. i love that possibility.

No, the tournament moves to Cleveland after the first round.
