Temple to Big East
Deal to be announced soon according to Brett McMurphy. They are rumored to be replacing Louisville who is headed to the Big 12 along with BYU.

meh. big least trying to go back to its' roots, a basketball conference which happens to sponsor football, as well.
I don't think memphis and temple basketball can off-set smu, uh and ucf, though

RE: Temple to Big East
Let me get this straight...Temple was once a member of the Big East (at least in football) for a time, right?

Were they kicked out of the conference, or did they leave it voluntarily? If it was the former, now that these Owls have "claws", the Big East wants them back? O, Fickle art thou...Good luck to Temple, anyway. Sure wish they'd have come over to our side.

If your football team sucked so much you're not welcomed in the big least....wow that's almost too much suckage to comprehend.

What's even more entertaining is the reactions of Memphis fans.

Temple was expelled when the Big East was "full of itself" in the early times of its BCS years. They envisioned little trouble adding teams like Penn State or others of like reputation to replace the Owls. It has not turned out quite as expected since then, and now they have made amends by inviting Temple back into the fold.

With the Big 12 still deciding its future size, it may well take in more teams by 2015. With the nation emotionally adjusting to the new higher fuel costs for transport, we may see broader conferences yet emerge over the next 5 years. The BCS conferences will simply pass the higher costs on to the TV contracts and bowls who need them for their own benefit. The others will just have to adjust as best they can.

Don't be too sure about that, "Phil"...I've seen Temple play in the last couple of seasons. Let's just say their "talons" are much sharper than they've ever been in football. They went 10-2, when? A couple of years ago yet, they weren't extended a bowl invitation? That was total ********!!!! Last season, I think they were 8-4, and was invited to a bowl game...These are not "our Father's Owls" anymore, pushovers no longer, this is the "Temple Of Doom"...And I'm sure that many close to the school have not forgotten their callous expulsion from the Big East when the conference was too big for its' britches several years ago.

I've a feeling next season's football team is going to have a chip on their shoulder as it relates to that. Somebody's going to get their *** kicked in the Big East.

RE: Temple to Big East
Temple is a lot better team now, but frankly if I were Temple I would give a big F-U to the Big East.

So the Big East invites Memphis, yet they don't inform them that Louisville is jumping ship?

(Although some of us had that suspicion)
