Last Coaches Luncheon is TOMORROW
If you have not yet sent your RSVP for the next Coaches Luncheon please do so now.

The LAST Coaches Luncheon for the Season will be TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 21st, 2012. The Trojan Men & Women are both in 1st place. Only two more games until the Conference Tournament. Come hear the Coaches give their scouting reports and feelings about your teams. Please come to the luncheon and show your support for “YOUR” two “FIRST PLACE TEAMS”.

The Luncheon will be held in the Legends Room of the Jack Stephens Center. Both Coach Joe Foley and Coach Steve Shields will be speaking and each has been requested to bring one of their players. At the prior two luncheons Coach Foley brought Britteni Williams & then Marian Kursh and Coach Shields brought Will Neighbour & then Marlon Louzeiro.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 and the coaches will begin speaking at 12:00. The cost this year is $10 for Tip-In Members and $15 for non-members. If you currently plan to attend you are requested to provide a no obligation RSVP to Sheena Howell at smhowell1@ualr.edu for food planning purposes only.

Funniest line of the day. Coach Foley was asked what he did to motivate Marian Kursch to play so well the past couple of games, and he said "The bench". He went on to say that after a player plays for him, by the time they are a Junior or Senior, much of what he trys to get across to them just slips by them because they don't hear him anymore because they're so used to hearing him. He said Bobby Knight always used to say that the bench went right to their brain.

Steve said he asked the assistants, before the opener against NT, what they honestly thought our conference record would be. Estimates ranged from 6-10 to 7-9. Steve told him he honestly thought we could go 11-5. They thought he was crazy. Of course, none of them would be very happy with 11-5 at this point.
