They can still be colleagues and buddies. Political adversaries make good drinking buddies when the cameras are turned off.

The only way the 12 goes to RU, UConn is to head off a grab from the ACC as those 2 great programs are on the ACC expansion horizion. That said BE moving Eastward those 2 are also very real possibilities to the 10 or 12 conferences because of TV market shares. I could see the 12 going after UL,UC, USF, Memphis, UCF or even Houston although the TX market is saturated. I still think there will be Major shake ups this year before the Smoke Clears.

Boren is a teetotaler, and believe me they are not buddies.
McConnell said all he did was make one call to Boren to ask the Big12 to consider Louisville.

Their relationship or lack of relationship will not have any effect on what the Big12 does.

Exactly. Fresno State, Southern Miss, East Carolina, and Marshall are islands.

Well if you wanna pretend Louisville football carries the same weight as Boise State than enjoy being on your lonely little planet....by yourself.

I'd gladly put our BCS Orange bowl Team with or without Michael Bush, and our 1991 Fiesta Bowl team up against Any BSU team in the same time frame. Charlie Strong will have us at those levels again, maybe even this year. Who knows You Guys might play here this year if You get WVU schedule. Just Sayin' 05-stirthepot

David Boren has been very vocal about going back to 12.

I agree. I do enjoy watching Oklahoma and Oklahoma State manipulate their local media to get their message out.....
CJ

Man you obviously know NOTHING about the Oklahoma media. That is one of the most ridiculous statements I have read in a long time

I grew up in Oklahoma and still live just a few miles from the border and read the Tulsa World and Oklahoman daily. I also spend time there with my brothers, listen to the sports talk shows and get one of the the Oklahoma TV channels. I can tell you the Oklahoma media is in NO WAY manipulated by the two schoools.

In fact the media tries to manipulate the schools. You have been reading Berry Trammel haven't you? It is funny you would post his articles that have been trying to influence the schools to join the expansion movement then make such a ridiculous statement.

Dude we were the Boise of the world before you guys. Nobody wanted to play us for the fear of losing. Louisville use to have the motto of play anywhere anytime, which something we need to go back to, and one you guys need to stick with for once you leave that motto it is hard to get back to. All you have to do is go back to are days in CUSA and Indy before coming into the Big East we were the talk of college football's new comers not Boise, but I do salute you guys for what you have done, and like I said keep it up with the play anywhere anytime for once you start demanding home and home series those big games get way harder to come by.

Jim likes to share information on conference expansion that may affect The Big 12, Big East and ACC in the future. I doubt anyone believes sharing information influences anything one way or another. I would suggest not reading and commenting if you don't like the information being shared. Seems simple enough. Much as you won't see me commenting about SMU joining any conference Big East or otherwise; I just don't care.

Go with Chip for rumors and sometimes facts

RE: John Klein: OU, OSU open to idea of future Big 12 expansion (Link)
Have to say---the loss of Louisville, Rutgers, and UConn would be a tremendous blow to the Big East as a football conference. Theres really no way to put humpty back together again after that. Without Louisville, Rutgers, and UConn, there is really no connection to the basketball schools remaining. That could be a big problem.

I suppose you could plug in Temple and ECU to get to 11, but there really is no great #12. BYU would already be gone to the Big-12. I suppose you could make one more run at Air Force---maybe they would be more willing now that Navy has said yes. Failing that, theres not a really good answer out there. Also, without Rutgers, Lousiville, and UConn---the TV contract is probably going to take a solid hit. All in all, I have to say that would be a pretty "worst case" senario for the Big East. Hope that doesnt happen.

The Big 12 has 10 right now correct? Sorry its getting hard to keep up with.

I could see BYU, Louisville as #11 and 12. Then Rutgers and USF as #13 and 14.

Be and East/West split.

I did not see any Mustang fans posting over and over and over that SMU had turned down an invite to the BigEast, and that S MU was getting an invite next week, and that it was a done deal etc over several months period. In fact I only know of a couple of other Mustangs that post on this board.
