man. i've got a lot of catching up to do. saw moonrise kingdom and the intouchables in theater this year. i think that was it. don't make it out to movies much anymore.

Best is a hard one to define for any actor, let alone one with such a varied career spanning such a long amount of time.
Looking for his best comedic performance? Best dramatic performance? Best overall? Best comedic movie he's in? Best dramatic movie he's in? Best overall?
I'm a big fan of Groundhog Day and I think some of his all time greatest lines are in Ghostbusters, hard to not consider Stripes and Caddyshack and he was one of the few things worth watching in Wild Things, his performance in that movie is hilarious and often forgotten.
I love all of his work in Wes Anderson movies, especially The Royal Tenenbaums and Moonrise Kingdom.

Total Recall (2012) / BR
-Love the movie. I think the lack of Mars being involved almost makes the head trip better. I like all the subtle homages to the original.
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer / dvd
--Whatever, I love it.
Fantastic Four/ BR
--It was ok IMO. I liked what Dr. Doom could have been and felt the final fight was pretty weak sauce to end the movie of its like with.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer / BR
--I much preferred this of the two movies.
Hard Boiled / dvd
--Dragon Dynasty always makes good quality prints for its dvds and this Chow Yun-Fat action movies is one of his and director John Woo's best.
Die Hard 2 / BR
--The BR print is a little cleaner than the 2D DVD SE I got a LONG while back. Its odd but in some places it really looks like a visual upgrade but in others it doesn't stand out at all. I guess that is the case with older movies. I think this one though, of the series, is one of my favorites. 2 >1>4>3. IMO, 3 was a money grab with the pairing of Sam Jackson and Bruce Willis at the time but the plot isn't all that bad.

Wedding Crashers- Great chemistry between Vaughn and Wilson. Chris Walken is always good and Rachel McAdams and Isla Fisher... --FUNNY MOVIE, I'll give you that. I have the dvd--doubt I do the BR double dip.
Step Brothers- Didn't love it the first time but its grown on me and got a good deal on it. --Caught it on FX one night...I liked it more than I thought I would. Not ready to buy it though. Farell and _____ have good on screen chemistry... just like they had in Talladega Nights.
Re-Animator- classic. Looking forward to seeing how well they did with the transfer.
Back to the Future trilogy- no comment needed. --I had the dvd set. When they had killer sale on the BR version I grabbed that too. The more I watch them the more I think the 1st was original and really great. 3 Exceeded the first one. The 2nd one felt like... they had to do a future one but somehow it was kind of weak overall in the experience and the triple layering of the time travel was also cumbersome.
i am happy to run across someone else who likes BTTF III better than BTTF I. both are really good, but i just would rather watch III than the orignial if i had the choice (although the actress playing jennifer was way too old and had an awful hair stylist).
Its a fun debate. When I was a kid, BTTF II was my favorite because let's face it, the future is cool and as a child of the eighties the flying cars and hover boards were enough to keep me interested.
Now as an adult, I still really enjoy the second one, but more for nostalgia and I always enjoy movies or literature that is set in the future and then we actually get to see how far off they were in the way they portrayed the future. We're less than two years from the date used for the future and there are obviously ways that they over projected i.e. the flying cars and hover boards, the complete control over the weather, the pizza hydrator etc.(and the Cubs being good )there are also examples of where they under projected like fax machine still being prevalent. I also really like when watching a movie set in the future you can see obvious hallmarks of the era in which the movie was made. Like looking at the fashion or auto design trends in BTTF II, its obvious the movie was made in the eighties. I really enjoy the translucent tie worn by Doc and the side by side ties worn by Marty and Ito.
Regarding the entire series, I still prefer the original.

I preferred 1 due to the cleanness of the time travel story arc. The 2nd one was a natural story extension from the 1st but like I said, the triple layering of the time travel intercepts made it clunky and convoluted. The 3rd cleaned up the story quite a bit and the Western theme actually was pulled off well.
Attempted to go to a 9:00pm showing at one theater and the parking lot was at 100% capacity, like not a single empty parking space, and while I was circling the parking lot I saw them post a sign on the box office window that it was sold out, my buddy instantly got out his phone and picked up tickets on fandango for the next showing, which was 10:15 at a theater about 8 miles away. So we headed straight there, sat in the lobby and waited to be let in and got really great seats in a great, large auditorium. I don't know if it ended up selling out, but it was very close. If it was like this across the country, I'm sure the Weinsteins are very pleased.
It was very much a Tarantino film, and to be honest, it can be argued that it's a buddy cop movie, but it's a damn well made one. It was funnier than I expected honestly. At nearly three hours, there were just a couple of times I felt the pace could be improved, and some scenes that probably could have been left to the home release bonus features, but I don't think even that hindered the movie.
Saw Django today. I liked it. I'd almost like to see Tarantino do another "Western." His action sensibilities could lead to doing another movie. About the only thing I disliked was that the "German" almost played the same guy he did in "Inglorious Basterds." Without giving away spoilers Sam Jackson's character had a few issues.

Christoph Waltz was so good in Inglorious it wouldn't surprise me if Tarantino wrote this role for him. I could certainly see parallels, but they were definitely different characters. His role in Django certainly had a morality that his character in Inglorious did not. Personally I hope Tarantino and Waltz continue working together.
Jackson's character was vile no doubt, but I think he did a good job in the role.
Looper BR-blind buy. Heard good things about the movie and the reviews of the transfer have been great.
Inception best buy exclusive steelbook BR
The Departed best buy exclusive steelbook BR
How is Looper? Incpetion and The Departed were excellent. If you like The Departed I highly recommend watching the "Internal Affairs" trilogy that the Departed was based on. Excellent Hong Kong cinema. The Departed basically covers the first movie in the series.
