I was never a Joss Whedon fan but THAT is how you write a movie!

That was a damn good movie. Dare I say it? Flawless.

Torch? smash

Loved it!

Ok, not flawless:

1. SHIELD doesn't shoot down Hawkeye's plane?

2. Ironman hits Thor instead of just grabbing Loki, and zooming him back to the jet.

3. No way Stark goes through the shatterproof glass. Stark's body breaks before that glass does.

But still, when it was over I told my wife, "That's how you write a script!"

2. It was an excuse to get a fight between Thor and Iron Man, which was awesome

Still would have happened. Just executed wrong.

Quote:3. You know it was an awesome movie if this is one of the top 3 problems

Sure it was awesome. The finish to that scene was kinda lame. Which was too bad b/c it was a GREAT scene.

Quote:Tell me Hawkeye wasn't totally awesome. And the villain reveal in the middle of the credits?! I never thought I'd see him in a movie

Fully agreed. He was not who I was expecting. I didn't know he was an Avengers foe.

Snow White / DVD SE
--Pretty awesome print of the movie considering how old it is. The Evil Queen is one of the top movie villains of all time.

RE: The movie thread
Snow White (Disney) / se dvd
--Pretty good animation and print quality considering when it came out. Evil Queen is pretty EVIL.

Snow White and the Huntsman / theater
--Pretty good... some slightly different and expanded upon story elements from the Disney version. Overall, pretty solid.

MIBIII / theater
--Best of the 3 IMO. Brolin plays Tommy Lee Jones dead on...its like scary. Really good time travel tie in to the story line of the series.

Sleeping Beauty (Disney) / se dvd
--A solid movie but wow was it close in basic story to Snow White.

MIB / se dvd
--I liked the first one a lot, 2nd one, not so much.

Saw Prometheus last night, or this morning rather, at a 12:01 screening. IMAX 3D. It was pretty incredible, not sure I'd say it was better than Alien, but very enjoyable. Avengers is still my favorite movie of this year.

Going tonight @ 7pm.

Not doing 3D.... no movie is worth the $3 premium on the tickets IMO.

WOW....

Answers and asks so many questions about the series....

Most directly, Alien, Aliens, and Alien Vs. Predator .... once could argue a portion of Predator 2.

Avengers and Prometheus were both absolutely worth the extra shillings. Fantastic use of 3D in both movies.

Batman & Robin SE /dvd
--I hate this movie and only watched it again so I can verify how much better Bane will be in Dark Knight Rises.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows / BR
--awesome movie... like the main villain over the first one. Cool making of features and docs.

Speed Racer / BR
--Not a bad BR print.... but didn't blow my mind over the dvd print I had already.

Tron Legacy / BR
--good follow up to Tron. would kind of have wanted more.

Not sure why John Carter got so much hate. I watched it the other day and thought it was pretty good.

I'll give you that. I wasn't too enthralled with the trailers either. But that Arena scene was 1/16th of the movie if that

what's wrong with attack of the clones? maybe i should do a side thread, but i never understood the problems with the prequels. Sure they have their flaws, but at least they had cool light saber battles, unlike the god awful ones in the original trilogy.

The problem I had with the Star Wars prequels is the same problem I have with prequels in general: you know how the story ends. You're forced to shoehorn a whole lot of exposition into the movie, and hope that everything matches up in the end. The only way it would work would be if the prequel was written earlier in a different format. Even then, it's kinda silly.

Attack of the Clones was the best of the prequels but that wasn't my point.... the point was the John Carter trailers made it look like the land battle on that planet in Attack of the Clones.
