I think the movie studio saw that the only way they could make this work without Bruce Lee is to make Kato the brains of the outfit, and turn the Green Hornet into a thing of ridicule. IMO, that's what Van Johnson was in the old TV show. It was Kato that always saved the day...

dude, i was kidding. Of course I know of the Bob Newhart show. Do you really think I had never heard of him or his show. Was he part of that Saturday night comedy block with Carol Burnett? In hindsight, i probably shouldnt've said "I have no idea who that is," because I certainly did have an idea
I forget what time slot the network chose for the show. I didn't watch it myself. I just used it as an example of really bad acting, and Steve Carrell is an amateur by comparison...
Your sarcasm totally went over my head. I guess my detector is still busted...

i meant comedic actors. I can't stand Steve Carrell and i don't care for Tina Fey either.
That movie was terrible.
Tina Fey is poor. She's a poor actress who doesn't understand her craft. That's what makes her receiving the Twain award a bigger joke than she's ever done.

Like Hong Kong Phooey?
SyFy had a marathon of Green Hornet episodes, but didn't have time to watch any.

Yes, he followed Mary Tyler Moore. I'd always skip MTM, and tune in to Bob Newhart. I still love that show and Newhart was good too.
I saw a special discussing Newhart's deadpan humor. I guess that's what clicks w/ me. As far as his stand up, it's ok. Situational humor. Kinda dated, and I'd say that Woody Allen's stand up was funnier.

i assume you're referring to Date Night? It was such a bad movie
Rented the movie Buried tonight. The movie immediately begins with a guy waking up to being buried several feet underground in a coffin with only a cell phone and lighter. We find out he's a contractor in Iraq who was ambushed. The entire film takes place in that wooden box. Pretty good movie and tense throughout. Won't give away the ending, obviously. But everyone will have different reactions to it.
Was gonna see The Green Hornet till the only shows were in 3D. Not paying $3 extra for 3D for no movie.
