Former Kempsville High star Fuller transfers from U.Va. to ODU
NORFOLK - Jason Fuller, a 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive end, will transfer to Old Dominion from Virginia, becoming the Monarchs' first transfer from a BCS school. ODU begins its first season of Football Championship Subdivision play in September.
The 6-5, 255-pound Fuller, a defensive end who redshirted as a freshman at U.Va., received a degree in commerce with a concentration in finance and management along with a minor in government from the prestigious McIntire School of Commerce.
"I am excited with the signing of Jason Fuller," ODU coach Bobby Wilder said. "Jason is our first BCS transfer. He has everything we are looking for in a student-athlete at Old Dominion. He has an undergraduate degree from one of the top business schools in the country, he is a great person, and he is passionate about playing football at Old Dominion. When I first asked him why he would consider transferring from UVA to ODU, he simply said I want to be part of something special. That, as much as his football ability, excited me as the head coach."
