State Dems are supposedly trying to let the state set the calendar over contracts. They are trying to add 20 days to our work calendar for the same pay. I had 10 righties with a newspaper at my door throughout the day. Obama has been gunning for teachers too in some of his adresses.
Strickland's plan fits right in w/ Duncan's. Neither one can fund it, but both can make overtures about how much they want to do. It just adds to the strife throughout the country, b/c public schools are
very local, and you start stirring that up, you occupy many people's time and attention...resources that aren't available to keep the gov't reined in in other areas.
My point is more toward the bloated, excessive bureaucracy seen in DC. Why does Fairfax County have the highest household income in the country? (With other local counties in the top 10). Why do these counties operate at a surplus, despite spending to extravagance? (Hint: it's b/c their residents, largely gov't employees and contractors, make a very good living.) Do you think Sandusky, Wood, etc would like to have some of that back?
And what political party now dominates these county positions?
I also call out Schadenfreude b/c it dawned on me at some point why we never communicated. Different experiences. Sure, that's obvious, but what I realized is that most in the media (think Olbermann) did nothing in college except drink, watch basketball, and re-write a few HS caliber essays. What I finally realized is that they never worked, yet they have it comfy and easy, so they think it should be that way for everyone. They just can't believe that other people do actual work.
And yeah, I think labor union members are largely the same way.

But, I won't pick on just the worker. Big business LOVES regulation, it's a barrier to competition.
