Of course he isn't in it for retribution. When he votes to impeach Trump, or they go after Musk, and others, it will just be the right thing to do. Or what the law demands. But, it won't be retribution. Nope.

Not to derail the thread but yesterday afternoon while I was finishing up supper I noticed a very large bird at the back of property. We have a Sun Room so you have multiple windows like sitting on a large back porch but inside. He had a white head and it was obvious he was a bald eagle. I have lived here for over 26 years and had no idea there were bald eagles here.
I have seen a number of Mexican Eagles which are really hawks. But this was the real deal.

DeSantis in Florida has a handle on voter suppression.
Florida now is like Texas or Georgia in 2020:
a swing state people don’t know yet is a swing state.
Angie Nixon was outspent 13–1 in Florida’s Senate race.
She got 48% of the vote.

Wow are you clueless Git. Clearly your political knowledge stretches back only a couple years and you are still learning. That fits though, Dems voters are traditionally the dumbest and least informed and very new to politics.
Florida has been a key swing state for many decades, its only since about 2022-2024 that Florida started being known as a red state and no longer a reliable swing state. Since you probably suck at math too, that is just in the last 3-4 years.
Florida was NEVER seen as a hard red state like Texas, its always been known as one of the most vital swings states until about 5 minutes ago.
You always expose yourself as a know nothing clown who just copy and pastes reddit posts.
You totally exposed yourself a political newbie on that one whose knowledge on even the most basic things stretches back 2-3 years at best. Or you are just the dumbest person on the board.

RE: Republicans for Talarico
Texas isn't a swing state. My party put up a lousy candidate to counter another lousy candidate and because of the inaction of the Republicans in Congress (both chambers) and the war with Iran (which, by the way, they started back in 1979), a lot of Republicans here chose to abstain from voting in the Senate race. Frankly, this is a repudiation of how the GOP has been handling things lately. That said, the American voting populace can be very, very fickle, and it usually is. You can't fix everything in one two-year period. It's impossible.
We may have given the Dems the state for the next four years, but we're not a swing state. Trust me, when the Dems start their whole show trial and impeachment bull, the American people, namely my fellow Texans, will remember how things were back in 2019 and 2020 and we'll correct things.

These victories for Democrats run deep down the chart. Every statewide race, including multiple Texas Supreme Court judges.
That’s a lot of responsibility.
Texas is officially a swing state now until it proves it is not.

I was speaking—obviously, I thought—of post-Trump gerrymandered vote-suppression Florida.
I am well aware of the state’s political history before 2016, but it’s cute that you find me so youthful in outlook.
The wins just keep coming.

You can't spin your way out of that post you clown. You own words were clear you thought Florida was a long time red state stalwart like Texas and Georgia.
You very clearly are new to politics, don't know jack and going through a wave mid term election for the first time in your life.
There are leftists here who clealry know what they are talking about politically even if we disagree. You are not one of them. Not even close.

Physician, heal thyself.
People like me who expected and predicted the Republicans to lose big this year are not in "denial". That's not what that word means or how its used in this context.
You on the other hand very clearly exposed your own ignorance of Florida and its purple state history until about 5 minutes ago.

Oh noes! not the "he mad" post.
Most people keep asking me why I'm not angry or depressed about this election. I say for the same reason I almost never am over these things. My faith is in Jesus, not politicians or parties. I'm not driven by hared over Trump or the Marxist left.
Christ wins in the end and will reign for all eternity. And those of us who follow Him will share in it.

Lazy. You bothered to look into the actual numbers? Trump's candidate got destroyed. 1.5M liberals haven't all moved to Texas from California. About 5 million people total have left CA, IL and NY in the past 8 years. They can't all be libs and they can't all have moved to TX, SC, GA and SC.
Nah, not lazy, as there is precedent. I will concede that the Repubs put forth a terrible candidate. The governor losing was more of a surprise, at least imo.
Every statewide race went blue in Texas. This was a mandate.
No, not a mandate. I know that's the narrative folks have been told to tell, but the power not in power ALWAYS does better during midterms. This time is no different.

It’s a mandate. A very clear one. Historic.
Expecting a result or not expecting it has nothing to do with whether or not that result represents a mandate. Surprise is not the yardstick. Scale is.
Trump is very different from everything that came before. Some earlier patterns apply but January 6 is one big elephant in the room. There’s no sweeping that under a rug. He showed the world who he is.
Congratulations and good luck to all winners. Remember who you work for and do your best, and we’ll be fine whatever comes.

This wasn't your typical midterm....
Quote:The American voter dealt President Donald Trump a historic rebuke on a scale not seen since 1974, propelling Democrats into control of both houses of Congress with commanding wins in places they hadn’t carried in decades.
Democrats won both the Senate and governor’s races in Texas — their first statewide victories there since 1994. They took a U.S. Senate seat in South Carolina and the Georgia governorship for the first time since 1998. Kansas sent a Democrat to the Senate for the first time since 1932.
Among their early House victories were a Kentucky district that voted for Trump by 15 points and two Florida seats that Republicans redrew to shift right. The head of the House GOP’s campaign arm trailed in his own race with 99 percent of the vote counted. As of 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Democrats led in every competitive House contest.

Talarico winning by +12 in Texas! Conservatives thought he had no chance. Instead he won by over a million votes.
Voters clearly weren't happy with what the GOP was offering. Now hopefully the dems don't squander this opportunity.
