It’s important to understand that almost all of the “military aid” the United States has sent to Israel over the years was given on the condition that Israel had to spend the money buying weapons from US defense firms. There is still plenty of room left over to criticize or oppose that policy, too. But it’s hardly the same thing as simply “giving” Israel X billion dollars every year.

Just generally, I wish every federal expenditure to any foreign country, each fiscal year, had a separate vote on the floor of the US House and the US Senate. Both for foreign aid and all the various programs that are not called “foreign aid” but still involve tax dollars being sent overseas for this, that, and the other thing. It would be so clarifying if all 535 of them had to sign their name to it each year. But of course that’s the main reason why it will never happen.

Not sure what “one to go” is referring to. Maybe it is Ukraine. But for many years — and probably still right now — Egypt and Israel got the most money from the United States. I know Egypt still get a lot of our money, although maybe not #1 or #2 anymore.

Dems now want to use that money to send to CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood.
