I assumed I was going to have to pay more since I was a net loser on deductions/exemptions. According to this thing I actually come out ahead--despite losing exemptions/deductions under the new bill.

Best New Tax Plan Calculator

Looks like this calculator is spot on, it compares current law, new plan, as well as the house and senate versions.

Using this:
Plan as Passed: I will pay 307 less
Old House Plan: Would have paid 95 more
Old Senate Plan: Would have paid 423 more.

For what its worth, as a democrat, the plan as passed is a good one....I just have a problem with increasing the debt...IMO we need a balanced budget that includes paying down the debt. No party seems to have the balls needed to do it.

Where were all the Dem concerns about the debt when Obama was doubling it?

RE: Best New Tax Plan Calculator
At one time didn’t Obama admin require you to list employer paid insurance as income? Seems I remember talk of that. My employer pays 100% of my health premiums but I have to pay my wife’s. I also receive around $7500 a year for vehicle and cell phone reimbursements from my employer. Can’t remember if that is included on W-2 or not. Help me out on this so I can get a more accurate estimate. Coming up with around $2000 a year now

if you watched the news, who says this only benefits the rich, one would assume that everybody here is rich, since we are all saving money.

I do not watch much news these days. I find that is the best way to really know what is going on in the world.
