It makes me feel like the federal government should stop screwing up healthcare at the state level.

C.H.I.P. have been around a lot longer than ACA. As for ACA, it covered kids who parents could not afford health insurance, and that the parents made over the limit for Medicaid, C.H.I.P. and all that. Yes, ACA does cover children and disabled people who could not qualified for Medicaid, C.H.I.P,. and so forth. These are the ones that slip through the cracks with all the reforms that the Republicans and Bill Clinton did in the 1990s, and under Reagan and Bush SR.'s watch.

...there is no money.
Our state budget, like most state budgets, consists largely of entitlements and prisons.

Paul Ryan lied. many Republicans are complaining that they need this. This should have been taken care of first before the stupid tax cuts that will hurt the middle class and the poor.

Paul Ryan didnt lie. The house passed it. It hasnt been passed in the senate yet. (Which might be a problem considering the democrats voted against it.) So place your faux outrage at the correct party. Nancy and Chuck told their memebers they werent allowed to vote for it, so they didnt.

Because Obamacare used the existing CHIP program to fund that area of medicine. Obamacare also used expanded medicare to fund healthcare for the poorest Americans.
Obamacare wasn't 'an everybody healthcare program'. It tried, in my case incorrectly, to continue with a private healthcare program.
After Trump demolishes Obamacare and there's no replacement..and half the rural hospitals shut down...the next solution is obvious... single payer.

How do you figure that one out? It will align the Obamacare people's healthcare with that of the people working for Shell Oil. If someone denies me access and coverage, they'd be denying it for everyone. The hospitals would have to take it or they'd have no customers. Perhaps 5% of doctors could cultivate a practice using 'concierge care' and everyone else could either simply not work, move to another country with socialized medicine and lower salaries, or work within the single payer system for a great salary and better working conditions.
Its time to turn health care into an entitlement. The private system has failed. It doesn't provide better medicine at lower costs.

If the GOP plan is simply to go back to what we had before OBlundercare, then no it is not.

They have no intention of reinstating the risk pools. If they do, they'll do the following
1) Require people to get turned down by insurance companies to access them. In order to apply so they can get turned down, they'll have to spend 2000+ hours collecting every medical record for every doctor they've ever seen, and every pill they've ever taken.
2) And then, they'll get to pay 10 times what they did 10 years ago for a third of the coverage.
OR (what's really going to happen)
3) They'll offer 'Trump University' type healthcare policies that don't cover things like diabetes, hospitials, cancer, etc. with no out of pocket maximum and few providers and say 'see...we've got an insurance plan for you". It might even come with a card good for 10% off medicine at a list price 200% higher than it was last year.

OR I will simply go back to having real insurance with real access to affordable care that I had before.
AND maybe people who are living a dangerous or risky lifestyle will have to pay up and have their coverage limited.
Its called freedom of choice.

Actually they might bring back major medical which *DOES* cover things like cancer and emergencies while not forcing a 20yo to buy coverage which geriatric conditions or other things that don't impact him.

So Joe Manchin's daughter will still be in charge of setting the price of medicine?

That's true, they shouldn't even need medical plans in Alabama. Just do some praying and that will take care of everyone's health problems.

Nice
Next you will say blacks don't need it because they only eat watermelon and chicken, or that Muslims don't need it because they are all financially supported by terrorist groups.
Unapologetic left wing bigotry never disappoints.
