National Spelling Bee
I'm not linking this story but I read where some of the kids competing in the finals have private spelling lessons where the teacher charges $300 an hour!

This link is kind of fun. It basically implies what word is the most commonly misspelled word in your state (although the rationale leads something to be desired - it's based on the most common google spelling search in each state).

But some of the words and stats are amusing.

New Mexico - banana
Louisiana - giraffe
Wisconsin - Wisconsin
Rhode Island - liar
Georgia - gray
Mississippi - nanny
North Carolina - angel

One state has nintey which I have to be honest I don't even know what that means unless the map is trying to say ninety and it's misspelled.

RE: National Spelling Bee
An Indian will win.

PS Isn't it helpful now that we have decided on "native America" so that we no longer have to qualify Indian with dot or feather. Multiculturalism has unexpected benefits.
