He said he didn’t know she called and certainly didn’t call him. He said biden has approved everything he’s asked for, so that box is checked. He added that there’s been a bunch of storms that have hit Florida over the past few years and she’s never reached out before.

My question would be why would he want or need to talk to her? He already talked to the President and got what he wants. Why the hell would he want to take a call from her?

I've been assured by her supporters, including Mark Cuban, that the vice president has no power and is responsible for nothing. What would she have to offer of value?

DeSantis blasted the vice president in response, saying that she's the one politicizing the storm, trying to get a boost for her presidential campaign.

DESANTIS: And so for Kamala Harris to say the my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish is delusional. She has no role in this. In fact, she has been vice president for three and a half years; I've dealt with a number of storms during this administration and she has never contributed anything to these efforts. And so what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this...

And I will say this, I've had storms under both President Trump and President Biden, and I've worked well with both of them. She's the first one who's trying to politicize the storm, and she's doing that just because of her campaign. She's trying to get some kind of an edge, she knows she doing poorly, and so she's playing these political games. I don't have time for political games. I've got people whose lives are on the line.

Here's the hilarious thing, though. While Harris was playing politics and trying to garner headlines by going after DeSantis, just a few hours later, Biden responded by saying he spoke to DeSantis and everything was great.

I can just picture Harris pulling her hair out, chugging a glass of wine at this point. She laid the groundwork for a narrative that DeSantis rebuffed federal help and was putting politics above the safety of Floridians, and no sooner than she did, Biden showed up to say the opposite. He could have easily played along and he didn't.

Is that just another coincidence? I can't say for sure, but man, does it feel like he's taking little shots at Harris throughout the campaign. In the last month alone, Biden has contradicted the vice president multiple times regarding her attempt to separate herself from the administration.

Returning to DeSantis, the long and short of is simple. He had no obligation to waste his time so Harris could cosplay as president for political reasons. As he points out, multiple hurricanes have hit Florida over the last four years. The fact that she only bothered to call now spoke volumes about her true intentions. If she wants to be president, she can invoke the 25th Amendment or win in November. What she doesn't get to do is have it both ways, pretending to be a leader when it suits her while washing her hands of her failures when it doesn't.
