on the planet.

If you're going up against him you had better be prepared. This debate is as informative and interesting as anything I've seen recently.

He is brilliant.

It’s almost someone you’d rather have behind the scenes. He understands government and how it operates but is the best conservative communicator since Reagan.

I'm wondering what's next for him. If/when Trump wins, JD's Senate seat for Ohio is open and DeWine could appoint Vivek to finish out JD's term which won't be up for re-election until 2028. But after winning a recent poll for the next governor to succeed DeWine in the 2026 elections, Vivek said he was open to it. So he could be appointed to JD's seat in the Senate and then decide whether to run for Governor in 2026 or run in 2028 as either an incumbent for Senator or as JD's VP in 2028 if my calculations are right.

Or will it be a slot in Trump's administration? I could see him as an excellent chief of staff. Maybe do that for 2 or so years and then run for Governor for 2026. He could do that and then maybe run in 2028 as JD's VP.

Massive future awaits the guy.

It depends on how you measure intelligence. Ability to think on your feet and come up with clever wording is a little bit different than Newton/Einstein levels of intelligence.

Still, he is clearly very smart, and I am impressed with his ideas and plans. He also has a pretty successful track record.

Fair point. I know he makes the likes of me look like my mind is non-existent. I probably should have stated that outside of brilliant scientific genius level minds he may be yada yada yada.

But yes, he is a clearly intelligent on a much higher level than the average person.

One thing the likes of him, Elon, Vance etal, all share is that they understand the premise - and promise - of common sense and pragmatism.

He should have gotten way more traction in the primaries but too many republicans in the sticks thought he had a funny name.

He does have a funny name. 03-wink

I have to admit that before I knew much about him I also wondered about the weird name and whether he was actually American.

Also, there were a lot of negative comments regarding Bolton. The one thing he said that struck me positively was that Joe Biden is the worst POTUS ever. It showed me that while many of us are at odds over details and specifics we share common ground against radical democrats and we should be more focused on what can unite us than what the lefts uses against us in hopes of dividing us.

I would prefer that he is offered a position in a Trump administration and wait until 2028 to run for federal office regardless of who he may pair with. I'm not sure I see him as a willing 2nd string QB although that may be the only route available as of now for him to take to ascend to the presidency.

I favor a Desantis-Vivek ticket myself although Vance has impressed me mightily.

What Vance, Vivek, Elon, etc. is that they have eidetic memory. It serves them well because they can remember what their opposition said/did and throw it back at them.

That was probably a factor but I think a bigger factor was the lack of name recognition period. He's never held political office and normally that would be a gigantic leap to President. Of course Trump did it, but his name recognition was among the highest in the country before he ran in 2016.

To my earlier post, if he runs for Senate or Governor in Ohio I suspect he will have tremendous support from "republicans in the sticks".

Fair point but not necessarily a deal-breaker imo.

This is interesting not so much because Vivek "won" but for his ability to make a convincing case for his positions and to sway people:
