SUU is a ground n' pound team that damn near beat a Top 10 FCS team on the road last week in UC-Davis, and manhandled an FBS team on the road (UTEP) the week before that. I don't know what the motivation is, but SUU REALLY shows up when it's time to play Tarleton. We lost a heartbreaker of a game to them at home last year after leading by double-digits in the final two minutes! If that doesn't motivate this underperforming Tarleton team to come out swinging, nothing will! Really need Gabalis to show up this week. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - Spolovilo4EVER - 10-01-2024 01:47 AM Tarleton and ACU will both have their hands full this week. Hopefully we can both pull of a W. Luck seems to be on our side this year as opposed to last year in close games, but SUU has came back to win on us more than once when we should have had the game won. Do not forget about the game in Arlington a few years ago. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - Outsider - 10-01-2024 09:05 AM This week will have a lot of ramifications for later in the season for sure. The UAC is finally getting much needed recognition. I hope it stays that way. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - TexanFan - 10-01-2024 09:10 AM Top three rushers in FCS are in the UAC. https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fcs/current/individual/469 RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - Outsider - 10-01-2024 09:22 AM (10-01-2024 09:10 AM)TexanFan Wrote: Top three rushers in FCS are in the UAC. I think a large reason we don't have one in the top rankings is that we have multiple RBs that can wreak havoc on any given night and we rush by committee. Banks, Hicks, Johnson or Vaughn can do a lot of damage. Hicks was offensive POTW. Throw that into our offensive scheme to begin with and this list is deceptive. I sorted the stats and looked at team rushing yards. 5. UCA 13. Tarleton 28. SUU 43. Doesn't surprise me, as stated, our offensive scheme isn't run first. So far this year, 835 yards rushing and 1606 yards passing. Our RBs still do a lot of damage and opens up our passing. And to think, Whitten was within a whisker of signing Powell away from UNA. Imagine a backfield with him, Britten and Kelley. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - Itinerant Texan - 10-05-2024 11:41 AM We need a big game from this guy on his big day! ![]() https://x.com/TarletonFB/status/1842582456345808982 RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - RCI - 10-05-2024 07:10 PM ACU takes down UCA 41 to 34 in a wild one. UCA is super tough, that is for sure. Both teams totaled over 500 yards. Now the UAC conference is shaken up a bit. Texans playing well against SUU. The TSU OL looks pretty good and handle pass blocking well. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - Outsider - 10-05-2024 08:23 PM Texans are playing extremely well against SUU. Today, ACU actually played with purpose all the way through the game. There were some goofs here and there, but UCA is just a really tough team. They were trying their best to tie it when we got that interception to seal the deal. That was a huge game, sorry the crowd wasn't very good. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - TexanFan - 10-05-2024 08:49 PM Best half Texans have played all year. Whoever decided we needed to play the stupid prevent defense on the last drive of the half needs to lose their coach’s license. Congrats to ACU!!!!! Utah Tech isn’t very good. Might need another HC search at the end of the year. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - TexanFan - 10-05-2024 09:59 PM Special Team’s Coach needs to go the women’s soccer practice next week and find a kicker. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - Itinerant Texan - 10-05-2024 10:00 PM Serious question: has Coach Lightfoot EVER gone for it on 4th & short!? Will double down on this post. RE: UAC FOOTBALL WEEK #6 - Outsider - 10-05-2024 10:46 PM I see two tough teams, with no quit, going at it in Utah tonight. Both teams had some bad things go against them in the final minutes of regulation. Will see what OT brings.
