Today officially was the first day. But no announcement. Changing gear companies. Joining ASUN Joining Southland Going indy in FBS football. Joining Sun Belt Joining CUSA RE: Where there is smoke..... - TexanFan - 07-01-2024 11:02 PM I wonder why no posts from women’s tennis, women’s golf, women’s beach volleyball and men’s golf? RE: Where there is smoke..... - Oscar P - 07-01-2024 11:54 PM Summit or MVC. No more MVFC. But it’s probably just “we’re an Addidas school” now. No way it’s the Southland. Would we stoop that low? Dear Lord, it’s gonna be the Southland. Geaux Texans I guess. RE: Where there is smoke..... - TexanFan - 07-02-2024 12:05 AM My guess is new uniforms. A couple tweets showed Nike gear. Doesn't tennis and golf wear polos, caps or visors? Prime sports for gear companies. Plus like I said elsewhere, you can see the Nike logo on a couple of the teams they posted. RE: Where there is smoke..... - Outsider - 07-02-2024 08:00 AM MAC Brown's latest WAC article seemed to indicate that the current members had signed a 2 year agreement to stay put and work together for now, so don't think it is a conference move. I guess they could shock everyone but it would be an expensive move. I don't think they would announce a later move this far out. I would go with a gear change. RE: Where there is smoke..... - TexanFan - 07-02-2024 08:50 AM Well here it is….. https://x.com/tarletonsports/status/1808134585462489163?s=61&t=MnwQ8U14yJ-l7IleA4WEPw RE: Where there is smoke..... - wewererebels - 07-02-2024 09:36 AM Happy for you guys. Texans do us proud! RE: Where there is smoke..... - Outsider - 07-02-2024 10:16 AM Congrats Tarleton! RE: Where there is smoke..... - Itinerant Texan - 07-02-2024 10:25 AM ”Big Announcement" = Big Whoop.
RE: Where there is smoke..... - Itinerant Texan - 07-02-2024 10:33 AM I guess I'm glad it wasn't something even less riveting like a freaking apparel change. Actually, Nike has been really good for Tarleton. Just ask TCU. RE: Where there is smoke..... - Outsider - 07-02-2024 10:58 AM No, but you can say all that transition stuff is officially behind you. Nike material, indeed, does stand the test of time. RE: Where there is smoke..... - edinburger - 07-02-2024 02:38 PM (07-02-2024 10:25 AM)Itinerant Texan Wrote: Congratulations. I think being eligible for the NCAA tournament *IS* a big deal. RE: Where there is smoke..... - RCI - 07-02-2024 02:56 PM Welcome to D1, you certainly deserve it. With the other announced plan of the core members of the WAC agreeing to stay put for a year or two, I hope things can quickly clear up and something stable is the result, whether that is the WAC, something else, or something new. You are our neighbor down the road and we both need some clarity and stability in a conference. My big question is can the WAC work out for us with a commissioner who seems too unaware of football, and that is a big question. We need a step up in quality in the WAC leadership. Secretly, I wish our other friend, you know who, would start football back up.
