Starting to like our chances. Just hoping the Pac 12 hangs together.

Dellenger: Commissioner, how many teams is the Big 12 looking to add?

Any chatter on what the Big East's next TV deal will look like? Their deal signed in 2013 that paid $500m over 12 years ($4.16m per school per year) gave us somewhat of a benchmark as to what basketball media rights are worth.

Even if that doubles I think UConn would have to bolt for the Big 12, even at a reduced share.

"Big 12 presidents and athletic directors will meet Wednesday through Friday in a gathering that is expected to focus on Yormark’s desire to grow the league to as many as 16 members."

Until the PAC 12 media deal is revealed, my uneducated guess is the discussion will center around "what if" scenarios except for perhaps the Zags.

Adding Gonzaga seems like a really short-sighted decision and I'm not sure why any conference other than the American or Big East would even consider it. There's no guarantee that they are anything special once Few leaves. See also: Wichita and the AAC

Sure, why not go big or go home lol

Add the 4 corner schools, SDSU, UNLV, Memphis, UCONN, and Gonzaga for 20/21.

On a more serious note, I think the 4C, SDSU, and Memphis are solid additions. If possible, I'd be down to add Gonzaga and UCONN olympic sports, and then give UCONN a 6 game scheduling agreement for football and maybe something similar with Army if possible, but that's past 16 teams. More likely is SDSU, Arizona, Colorado, and either UCONN or Memphis for 16 teams and then Gonzaga can be added separately if desired.

Colorado and Arizona are going to make the jump. I don’t care who you attach to it, just make sure we get some P5 teams for that sweet sweet pro rata money.

Still rumored to be anywhere from $8-$10 million annually. Wouldn't be shocked to see a split network agreement with ESPN as well.

From the article

Quote: The Big 12’s pursuit of Gonzaga, UConn, San Diego State and UNLV is somewhat contingent on whether the league can grab any Pac-12 defections. The conference’s new TV contract calls for a pro-rata share for any Power 5 expansion members. Additions from the Group of 5 could mean splitting the television revenue by however many programs are added—a potential issue for some officials.

Yeah, good luck convincing big12 presidents to split their 32 million per year with G5 schools.

This is dead on arrival. Power 5 schools covered by prorata or no expansion.

A non-football makes sense if you have a football affiliate, like with Wichita/Navy. So unless you want Army or Hawaii, forget it.

Can't wait for all of this hoopla to end with Memphis + UNLV in the Big 12.

I'm not predicting this, but it would be hilarious after all of the "4 Corners" hype here.

That will happen since Big 12 fans think they're the best conference in the world.

IYormark believes value exists in splitting hoops and football rights. It makes sense to me he's convinced Big 12 schools to secure the best hoops brands and some pain in the short term to get it on the back end
