FSU people are complaining that Miami are offering loads of cash to their players and recruits as well. All of this cause an NIL nightmare running chaos in the Wild Wild West.

Source? I’d wager it was produced prior to the current environment. With athletes able to enter the portal and transfer with ease, any rule preventing a coach from pursuing them prior to entering the portal seems arbitrary. It’s only a matter of time before a coach sues to allow it and wins.

So the DI coaches may not be tampering. A better DII player might enter the portal knowing that the championship is pretty close to an open tryout.
On the basketball or football team, a player might not be getting along with the coach or not getting playing time. If they enter the portal, the coach may cut them off. They could be a negative on the team, and it opens up a scholarship.
Most DII players in the portal do not transfer, and those that do end up at another DII school.
