With around 6 teams in actively in tank mode I just don;t think there is enough talent to justify two more teams. RE: The NBA at 32 teams - Bronco'14 - 05-20-2023 09:40 PM I like 8 divisions of 4. It gives you more flexibility in maintaining geographic rivals. I would ditch the Eastern & Western conference set-up & go to MLB & NFL conference / 'league' set-up. I would like to see Round 1 be best of 5. In Round 1, higher seed starts on road, & is a AAHHH set up. Round 1 of NBA Playoffs waste of time, usually 4-1 or 4-0, although this past season Round 1 was really good. So I guess maybe we're getting to the point where Best of 7 really is needed in Round 1? In that case maybe do a AAHHHHA set up. RE: The NBA at 32 teams - Bronco'14 - 05-20-2023 10:11 PM Here's a set-up I came up w/ the current 30 Pacific POR, SAC, GS, LA, LA Mountain PHX, UT, DEN, OKC, SAN South DAL, HOU, MIA, ORL, NO Southeast MEM, ATL, CHA, WASH, PHI Midwest MIN, MIL, CHI, IND, DET Atlantic TOR, CLE, BRO, NY, BOS I like this set-up better than current set-up b/c it's more geographically aligned. Minnesota & Memphis aren't with the far west teams for example. It's hard to keep an East / West conference set-up tho in this scenario so it's ditched for a NFL / MLB set-up. One conference: Atlantic, South, Pacific Other conference: Midwest, Southeast, Mountain RE: The NBA at 32 teams - Bronco'14 - 05-20-2023 10:34 PM If SEA & LV join: Northwest SEA, POR, SAC, GS Southwest LV, LA, LA, PHX Mountain UT, DEN, OKC, DAL South SAN, HOU, NO, MEM Southeast ATL, MIA, ORL, CHA Midwest MIN, MIL, CHI, IND East DET, CLE, TOR, WAS Atlantic BOS, NY, PHI, BKY Conference A: Northwest, South, Mountain, Atlantic Conference B: Pacific, Southeast Midwest, East RE: The NBA at 32 teams - Erictelevision - 05-20-2023 11:35 PM If Vegas comes & they resurrect the Sonics Atlantic Boston NYK Brooklyn Philadelphia Washington Charlotte Orlando Miami Central Toronto Cleveland Detroit Indiana Milwaukee Chicago Minnesota Atlanta Southwest Memphis New Orleans SAS Houston Dallas OKC Denver Utah Pacific Portland Seattle LAC LAL Sacramento Las Vegas Golden State Phoenix RE: The NBA at 32 teams - chargeradio - 05-21-2023 04:01 PM (05-20-2023 10:11 PM)Bronco14 Wrote: PHX, UT, DEN, OKC, SANI would flip Dallas and San Antonio. Dallas is closer to Oklahoma City, and Houston is closer to San Antonio. The only bad thing about your alignment is that Memphis, Oklahoma City, and New Orleans are all in different divisions - at least right now two of the three are together, and at least they are all in the same conference. If I made any changes to the current alignment, I would probably do this: Pacific POR, SAC, GS, LAC, LAL Mountain (Northwest) UT, DEN, OKC, PHX, MN Southwest DAL, SAN, HOU, NO, MEM At least from November to March the Northwest division would only have a one hour time difference between Phoenix and Minnesota/Oklahoma City. |
