Nice! Although it's crazy that they made the mistake of saying last year was our first as a D-I school.

Everyone know FCS is "D2", right? 03-lmfao

No way, but I like the confidence.

Speaking of waiver - when will we find out if approved???????

I’m sure this will come up at Coach’s caravan, and we’ll get a little better idea then. My guess is somewhere around June-September. It was said we would complete our submission this spring.

Think the cutoff date for applications is around June, then the FBS committee has to review them. I’m not expecting any of that to happen at warp speed, but would think they’d get it done before the season starts.

Seems like deja vu from what people were saying last year. I sure hope it happens this year.

Last year was a very different situation. This year is the one they were aiming for from the start. There was a lot of effort to build a strong case for this season.

Have we heard any decisions on the transition year being shortened?

Also ‘JMU gets several starters on defense back in 2023.’ I guess 8 starters back (9 from last 5 games) is several03-confused. Poor and lazy journalism isn’t just limited to FCS and Div II & III.

Yeah if you aren't P5 a lot of it is probably gonna be lazy.

Sports journalism has become so watered down with the surge in sports media outlets. There are many outlets designed specifically for clickbait that the underlying article and info are of little concern as they already have collected on the revenue of the click. It seems the good sports journalists are concentrated in just a few orgs now and the rest is pretty bad.

Agree but wouldn’t necessarily put Bleacher Report in that camp. They were acquired by WarnerMedia’a Turner division (now Warner Bros Discovery) which is part of a pretty major sport’s entertainment and media conglomerate.

In spite of a few inaccuracies, this is still really good press, and shows bigtime respect for our program. A truly "lazy" writer could have picked someone like Tulane or Troy instead. Both went 11-2, and Tulane was the highest ranked G5 at end of season at #16.

Who here really would've expected JMU to be listed in an article like this, along with 4 of the most elite P5 bluebloods a year ago?

Great press! Especially for a lousy HC who can’t recruit, right? Joking! 03-lmfao

Seriously, the odds of going undefeated are long for any team, but it’s very nice to be mentioned like this in a pre-season article. Shows real respect for JMU’s football program.

The media love JMU. America loves a feisty underdog.

All bets are off until the QB situation crystallizes. But in HCCC we trust!

Truer words have never been spoken. It can't be overstated.
