Memphis Tigers vs Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread - UCGrad1992 - 01-21-2023 10:08 PM

Hell yes I'm going to watch it! Cats have a chance to gain a quality win against an arch rival at home. UCF went down to USF today so one less team to potentially tie us for second place in conference. I have so many memories of playing Memphis State over the years I'm actually pumped up for this one! Let's go!

SUN 1:00pm ESP2
Memphis [14-5] o151.5
Cincinnati [14-6] -2.5
Fifth Third Arena, Cincinnati, OH

FWIW, we've lost three in a row and 4 of 5 against Memphis. Wes needs this win...

I may have one extra ticket if anyone wants it. Season ticket partner went to Buffalo and a bunch of friends don't want to miss the start of the Bengals game.

Tulane goes down to Tulsa last night...ouch. Temple @ Houston today. We win, Houstin wins, we're alone in second place.

Opportunity with a capital "O" today.

One could make the case it's the most important conference game this year in terms of measuring performance and perception for where Wes is taking the 'Cats. I used to always be amused when Mick would say, "when we make shots we look like the best coached team in the country". It was funny, but true. If the scorching hot shooting we saw the last game continues today, UC wins by 10 or more. If it's Brick City, it will be a nail biter, or worse.

As an aside, I won't be surprised if today's game draws UC's best TV audience of the season in the home market. The Bengals' parties will start early in tri-state homes and bars and this game will get a good look. It's a chance to show casual fans that UC basketball is on the rebound.

I'm sure most are already aware but we are getting a pretty significant lot of recruits in the house as well. All over twitter.

That was a flop

RE: Memphis Tigers vs Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread - bearcatmark - 01-22-2023 01:07 PM

That's an embarrassingly bad call. What a flop. Game changing bad call

RE: Memphis Tigers vs Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread - RuckleSt - 01-22-2023 01:08 PM

and on the next play they call a flop that probably wasn't

RE: Memphis Tigers vs Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread - DownOnRohs - 01-22-2023 01:08 PM

Nolley just got schooled by Davis. Then officials make a terrible call on a flop when Davis rolled his ankle bad. Lol nice. College refs suck

RE: Memphis Tigers vs Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread - levydl - 01-22-2023 01:09 PM

Lol they called on flop but the guy legitimately turned his ankle.

RE: Memphis Tigers vs Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread - UCGrad1992 - 01-22-2023 01:09 PM

After Nolley's opening trey we've gone to shiit.

RE: Memphis Tigers vs Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread - DownOnRohs - 01-22-2023 01:10 PM

The charge was a flop but Nolley got baited into that right in front of an official by a veteran Davis. Nolley has effectively taken himself out of this game. That’s how he plays though. I don’t love it. But I do wish we have one more year of him as a Bearcat

Double technical too for talking. So silly.
