ASU Game - TrojanTeen2 - 12-22-2022 05:42 PM

I'm sorry but that game should've been ours. If anybody watched the stream like I did, then you would've seen that there wasn't anything we could do to guard them.

Foul here. Foul there. Foul everywhere. The officials made it clear that we couldn't touch them in the last 5 minutes of the game. That last foul on Jefferson was so soft. I don't know what else he could've done. I bet if one of our players farted, it would've been a flagrant 2. And I know I'm biased but it wasn't the same kind of officiating on the other end of the court.

Otherwise, the offense looks much better and they're taking care of the ball. Man to man defense seems solid (but side note: can we stop playing zone?! It hasn't been working). However, we ran out of time I guess

I'm sick that we lost a game we should have won. But, overall I feel better about our team. We lost a game that went down to the final shot on the road to a team that is likely comparable or better than most in the OVC. Jordan Jefferson is obviously the player most of us thought he would be. DeAntonio Gordon is really solid like most of us believed he would be. Myron Gardner is even better than I thought he would be. Freshman like Speaker and Walker obviously have talent. I am a little surprised about John's lack of playing time, especially considering the foul trouble we had today. Don't know why we didn't, at least, use him to beat up on their big guy that was killing us.

Only coaching decision I didn't like (I assume it came from the bench) was isolating DJ, one on one, to take the final shot. Hard for me to believe DJ took it on himself to be the hero or goat. Obviously, with Jordan fouled out, Myron should have been given the ball. Really don't understand why he didn't have it. He is hard to stop without fouling.

All in all, I'm about over the loss and it less than 3 hours later. The OVC season and, really the tournament, is all that matters. Sometimes players learn more from a close loss than a win. Hopefully, the coaches will have their attention this week leading to the start of conference play. I honestly believe we will be okay in league play. Still not sure exactly what "okay" will lead to, but I think top 4 is not unrealistic for this team.

One hundred percent agree-Astate once again played “bad-lado” ball with terrible FT shooting, turnovers and streaky shooting. This was one of those times where foul troubles plus cold steaks doomed the Trojans besides them once again being lights out from the 3 range

Close but no cigar. Can't get out rebounded like that and expect to win. I don't see many road wins in OVC play . We had better run the table at home and try to pick up a few on the road or the season is in the tank...

That's how I see it. Win all or most, at home, and sneak 2 or 3 on the road and we likely finish in the top half of the league. Like always, there will be a lot of close games- we just have to win most of those.
