It is bad enough this man was ever POTUS - especially during the Pandemic - but that any rational American (even a Republican) would consider voting for him in 2024.

But then there are the "Christian Nationalists," "White Supremacists," and "Neo-Nazis."

The ironic thing, with regard to the former, is Trump has never shown any interest personally in religion except when it helped get him elected and later holding an upside-down Bible.

It's amazing how much overlap there apparently is among those 3 groups.

The "opinion" writer of this article conveniently left out a lot of information (not a surprised) regarding the Clinton Sock drawer ruling. Here is a link from a reporter who does a more thorough job explaining:

Old Case Over Audio Tapes in Bill Clinton’s Sock Drawer Could Impact Mar-a-Lago Search Dispute

He also posted links to the actual ruling and the transcripts. Nice to read articles from a reporter who also provides the facts so the reader can make their own opinion.

Look, I'm honestly not trying to bust balls here...

But you are comparing a President making recordings of his own voice for his own book and deeming them "personal" (which was authorized by NARA) with a President taking THOUSANDS of documents (without ever providing them or being authorized to do so by NARA) of which over ONE HUNDRED were still considered classified with no track record of any declassification.

Further, the Court dismissed the case as it was unable to "redress the plaintiff's claim" as the tapes could no longer be provided. In the current Trump case, MANY of the documents in question are quite available.

It is an apples to tube socks comparison. They aren't remotely close to the same.

That said, I think it is fair for you to continue to take the position that a President has unmitigated discretion to declassify and claim personal anything he/she wishes without prior authorization or paper trail. I'm sure there are plenty of sources that would support that, similar to what you linked. That will all be sorted out through the process of the investigation and determined, ultimately, through indictments and trials (if any come to bear). But don't chuck out false equivalencies to try and bolster that position. One, it makes it very difficult to have a good-faith conversation about these things. Two, the more that false comparisons are made the more it seems like reaching at straws.

You're a Bronco...you're better than that!

What he said. 100% nailed it.
