Lot of missed lay ups by both teams
Bearcats committing fouls but Rockets shooting poorly from the charity stripe
Rockets defense and rebounding are the difference
First quarter was rather helter skelter

Wow, Rockets cannot solve Cincinnati's defense but lead 29-23. Cincinnati is even playing good defense at the free thrown line, as Toledo can't seem to hit from there either. As I mentioned in the other (aborted) thread, Garcia shows no signs of whatever injury caused her to leave the court near the end of the Canisius game.

Rockets offense running time off the clock, getting good looks but any miss is pretty much rebounded by Cincy.
Rockets bench has contributed on both ends.
UT shooting 32.26% from the field; three point shooting 25.00% and 58.33% from the foul line
Q Lockett leads the Rockets with 12 and Jessica Cook has seven
Sammi has six of Toledo's 18 rebounds
Sammi Mikonowicz has two fouls; no one else has more than one PF
Cincinnati is shooting 40.91% from the filed; only 14.29% from beyond the arch and just 50.00% from the charity stripe
Mya Jackson has 13 points; two Bearcats with four points and one with a pair

Mickonowicz having a hard day on defense but just hit a big three. Wiard is looking for her shot in the second half but has missed a few. Cincinnati is tough on the boards, getting a number of offensive rebounds, but they are also missing a lot of bunnies. Rockets up 5 late in the 3rd.

Rockets getting crushed on the boards, looking tentative on offense, and missing shots. Down one after three quarters. Rockets had the last possession of the 3rd quarter, which ended with Wiard standing beyond the three-point line with the ball in her hands. Damn, not an impressive performance so far.

Cincy is working their big guard Hayes down low for lay ins over Rockets defenders. She has 16.
Mya Jackson has 19 and seems to be able to score at will.

But everybody tells me all the time that you don’t need good post play to win bball games.
I think we’re going to miss Hannah an awful lot this season, and I think the men’s team is gonna wish they could have landed another true post player when this season is said & done as well.

Agree. Poor post defense and lack of rebounding hurting.
