Sometime I think the bowl and playoff projections forget about the upcoming schedules and make these list based on if the season ended today.

You're exactly right. UC has 100% control of it's destiny and will make the ccg if they win out, with a very good chance to host it

Of the 4 games remaining, tthe only concern that I have is Tulane. But that game is in late November, in the coldat Nippert. If we win all 4, then we get another home game in the CCG. I have faith in the boys.

UCF now favored to get NY6 Cotton Bowl. ECU likely get Military. Tulane likely gets Shreveport.

That leaves us back to Birmingham.

Birmingham on a Tuesday 2 days after Christmas. Make new family holiday memories with hundreds of friends.

It's all just conjecture right now but ESPN has the Bearcats playing Michigan State in Birmingham. It's a new stadium and a reasonable drive. MSU remains a big brand, B10 team and beating the beleaguered Spartans could cap off another successful campaign. It could be (much) worse, such as drawing a C-USA team before Christmas.

It could also be better if Tulane or UCF stumble and UC finishes strong there is still hope for the Cotton Bowl. Both of these options could be decent places to be after losing elite level talent from the CFP team, and surviving numerous scares all season.

Won’t winning out in the regular season put UC in the CCG? UC and Tulane would each have one conference loss, and UC would own the head to head.

Yes

Yes

To the OP, if we win out, it won't even come to head-to-head as Tulane will have at least 2 AAC losses.

I think the big takeaway is that we still (pretty much) control our own destiny. If we win our last 2 scheduled games we make the AAC CCG and then if we win the CCG we'd very likely be the G5 rep in a NY6 Bowl.

Navy is capable of beating UCF and SMU is capable of beating Tulane and Temple could beat us.

Here's hoping the first two happen so we are guaranteed a spot in the cCG either way the 12th game pans out.

I definitely it’s possible any of those three scenarios could happen. Navy had a pretty stout rushing attack and might be able to frustrate Plumlee and Bowser. Navy’s weakness is pass defense.

If Tanner Mordachi gets got SMU can score on anyone.

RE: Our Bowl Future now - rath v2.0 - 11-13-2022 07:50 PM

UCF just rushed for 3x the yards against Tulane as UC averages for the year. Lol

They are going to kill Navy.

Yeah Gus has it figured out down there. They aren’t going to be close for either of their last two games. It’s a matter of if UC or Tulane has to book a flight to Orlando.

I don't think this is correct. UCF and Tulane would have 2 losses but if Tulane beats us in final game so would we and Tulane and UCF would have tiebreaker over us. Have to win out, maybe lose Temple, win Tulane could back door us in.

RE: Our Bowl Future now - Bruce Monnin - 11-13-2022 09:15 PM

Temple can not beat us.

We may beat ourselves when Temple is on the other side of the field.

RE: Our Bowl Future now - rath v2.0 - 11-13-2022 09:42 PM

Oh it's going to be a miserable 3 hours I fear.

This team hates playing in empty stadiums more than we loathe watching those games.

RE: Our Bowl Future now - UCGrad1992 - 11-13-2022 10:28 PM

THU 7:30pm ESPN
SMU o65
Tulane -3

SAT 11:00am ESP2
Navy o53
UCF -16.5

SAT 4:00pm ESPU
Cincinnati o54
Temple +18

Couple things. I can't figure out Tulane after seeing them lose to Southern Miss and UCF. If it wasn't for their win against KState I don't know that I'd give them much credibility. I'm thinking SMU can put some points on those dudes and make it interesting. Navy played Notre Dame very tough. Can I just say that I'm glad we've got our game with them already in the books. They are a pain in the ass to play. They can run it pretty well too. UCF is coming off two hugely emotional wins against us and Tulane. They are in the drivers seat now and playing at home. It wouldn't surprise me if they have a struggle against Navy. We'll beat Temple but I'm growing more concerned with the regression of BB. How he responds after playing one of his worst games will be telling. I won't repeat the stuff about the play calling.

Temple +18 in that mausoleum.

For a 7th straight week...might want to go against UC in the spread.

Buy yourself a boat. Lol

I've said for a long time now, Vegas usually gets it right. For some reason, not with UC this year. Anyone recommend a reputable betting site?

FanDuel has worked well for me, not sure if they'll be launching in Ohio on January 1st, but I use my backyard fence being the border of Ohio and Michigan to my advantage.
