WM held an intersquad scrimmage and Jason Burton, scouting director for Prep Baseball Report VA/DC was in attendance. He is tweeting out little video scouting reports for some of the players. So far he has:

Ducker, Burke, and Barnes are freshmen. Smith is the transfer from Haverford (D3). The completely new name to me is Assaf Lowengart. He is a transfer from Mansfield (D2) and has played for Team Israel. He has his own wikipedia page:

I see Ragone is doing a grad year at WM; I wonder what other seniors from last year are using that extra covid year here. I saw Hunter Hart is now a grad assistant at UVA. I also saw that Adam Quintero, a freshman last year, transferred to Gaston College (juco). Mark Trotta transferred to GMU.

Anyone I know where I can buy a hat like the one they wear on the field? I was surprised that at the game I went to last year they weren’t selling any and when I have asked the baseball social media accounts they have not replied.

The roster on the website hasn’t been updated for 2023 yet but the coaching staff now lists Mason McRae as director of analytics and Garrett Casey as student assistant coach. Last year as a junior Casey threw 5.2 IP.

“Welcome back to FR RHP @HertzlerNoah (@WMTribeBaseball). Hertzler joined the Express in July last summer (after just finishing HS) and tossed 5 scoreless IP with 3 K against 1 BB. He touched 94 in a 3 inning appearance in the playoffs. Hertzler is a local product from Broadway.

The 2023 roster is out. 16 freshmen, 9 sophomores, only 2 juniors, 7 seniors, and 8 grad students. Most of the new players (freshmen and transfers) and departing players have already been mentioned in this or other threads but there was a new name for me: INF Ryan Bhojwani. Bhojwani graduated from Yorktown HS in Arlington in 2021. Initially a Rice commit, he instead went to UVA and was with the team until this past December when he graduated with a BA. So now he is a grad transfer but with freshman eligibility.

With a couple exceptions, the freshman class is still the former coach's recruits. Next year is the first McRae class. Sounds like pitching will be very strong.
